View Full Version : Imaging an old computer

I know several of you guys use a program to take an image of your computers for restoring the computer.

What programs do you like best for an old computer? I think the OS is windows NT but the hardware and several of the programs are pretty old so go as far back as you can for compatibility.

We are moving a critical piece of equipment next Tuesday and I have learned that we have no images of the two computers that will also be moved with the equipment.

I am paranoid so please let me know whether there is a quick program I can use to make an image of the computers before they are moved.

Q: Do you have a floppy drive?

Q: Do you have a CD-RW?

Q: Do you have USB?

I can give you a solution (including the required files)based on your answers in a minute.

Floppy is very quick and easy if you have a CD burner

Both computers have a floppy drive

Both computers have a CD reader

One computer has a CD writer probably (never been tested as such but it does appear to have that capability)

Once computer has a USB port (not the computer with the writer)

Hopefully this answers the right questions :)

I am hoping our IT will put it on their list of things to do but if not I need to make sure we are covered.
