Ok, this was confusion. My version of Crysis was listed as 1.1.1.6115 even after installing patch 1.2.

1.1.1.6115 doesn't look like a 1.2, so after trying to repatch, I uninstalled and tried again. Sure enough the patch looked like it took, but still, the version number is different than the patch I was trying to apply.

So, I foolishly assumed that clearly I'm doing something wrong. 1.1.1.6116 sure isn't 1.2.

But wait, 1.1.1.6115 IS the version you get when you apply patch 1.2. Oh that makes lots of sense - what genius came up with this crazy system!!


Sorry, had to vent. Blew an hour on this foolishness.

Clay, are you having just Patch issues, or are you trying to install Warhead?

thanks Stitch, mostly I was bemoaning the confusion caused by the inconsistent numbering system. But what is this Warhead?

Warhead is the expansion pack that was released yesterday. It adds a new chapter to the game that actually provides more story and information then the original Single-Player game did. Plus it adds in performance enhancements and tweaks for system optimization. From a MP perspective it adds some new things as well. So far based on GameRankings.com scores, it's being very well recieved and is a must buy if you were a fan of the original game.

Good move - I'm going to get this expansion too. This game is extremely fun. One detail in particular - I like the aspect that the suit regenerates you. Not "realistic", but I'm finding it more fun to just play, rather than be spending most of my game time focused on finding that next healthpack. This is a really great game!

Plays smooth as glass. My GPU runs at 75°C sometimes playing it, which has me slightly concerned.
