I'm torn for this christmas between a new computer or PS2.

The computer i'm planning on building's specs are as follows..

Amd T-Bird 1 GHz processor (current price is $271 after shipping)
A-Bit KT7-RAID (approx $154 after shipping)
Tornado 1000 Case w/300w power (Approx $194 after shipping)
Vortex 2 Soundcard (approx $30)
The T-bird fan and spacer from 3dcool.com (approx $45)
total is about $700

Of course prices will also come down in the next couple months.. Then after christmas come a new video card and a new hard drive... GF2(of course) and 40-60GB hard drive... and a new monitor, this one is going beserk. A lot to upgrade http://www.augustknights.com/ubb/smile.gif but hey its always fun to build something new..

Go with the computer, dude! You'll have to sell your left testicle to get your hands on a PS2 this Christmas. Personally, I wouldn't recommend that particular transaction. Good call on the 3DCOOL components, by the way.

Man, your nuts... I would never sell my left testicle... maybe my right one though... hm... would they accept a right testicle for a PS2?? prolly not... I'm almost sure I'm gonna go for the new computer... One of my friends had the PS2 pre-ordered.. I'll see how it is.
I thought it was a good call too... After researching a little, and knowing that i'll probably overclock this new computer when the time comes.

The T-Bird is the way to go...i am very pleased with my processor. And as far as the PS2, my one friend got his yesterday, and I can't say I was all too impressed. I'll have to try it some more though for a final verdict.
