In response to several requests for a server fund to donate to, I have placed Paypal buttons on all pages of the site. Feel free to donate (http://www.augustknights.com)!

Thanks for setting that up palooka...

On that note... I tried setting up paypal and it wanted an 'extended use number' and to bill be $2 and I would have to wait for my next credit card statement! Rather odd. Please drop me a private e-mail with a mailing address. A check is quicker (can you believe that?)

Edit:
Thanks for the address. This will probably work out easier than PayPal for some folks, and ensures that you get every dime I donate, rather than sending a % to paypal.

Done. No clue how much to donate, so I just gave a couple bucks - speak up if more is needed.

What the total we need per month or some guideline so we know we can hit the target. I hate guessing?

I'm not going to tell you guys how much you should give. I've not asked for money in the past and I likely will not in the future. I never would have placed a PayPal button on the site had so many people not asked for it. So, if you want to donate, I will greatly appreciate whatever is convenient for you. Just to give you an idea, the donations so far have ranged from $2 to $75, but have mostly been between $20 and $35. This round of donations will probably go toward the setup fee I will be paying (that is, if it's not waved). I will be paying $100 per month as soon as they move me to a free quarter rack (in the next two weeks, they say). The starting price will be $50 per month, since I will be sharing a quarter rack with other customers.

While I appreciate any amount you can give, if you plan to donate a relatively small amount, I would suggest holding on to your money. Since I have a premier account (allowing people to pay via credit card), PayPal takes a big chunk of small transactions (like using a debit card for a $.50 fee to buy a $1 cup of coffee). For instance, that $2 donation only ended up being $1.64 (82%), while the median donation of $25 came out to $23.97 (96%) after PayPal took its share. The fee schedule is 2.2% + $0.30 USD to 2.9% + $0.30 USD.

FYI, in the past, when Zorro was managing all our services, we usually had an annual donation drive.
