Is it possible to print to printer using a PC in another state?

If the printer's connected to the internet with a public IP via a JetDirect card or the equivalent, it's simple in Windows 2000/XP--just add a new local printer, don't auto-detect plug'n'play printers, add a new TCP/IP port with the printer's IP address, load up the correct driver, and print away. I routinely send how-to documents for simple questions from my office in Newark to a printer at a remote location in Wilmington, rather than run up there every time.

Thanks Beast!!!
Would we have to open port 9000 as well?

You probably would have to open whatever port is used for TCP/IP printing--I don't know whether or not that's 9000.
