    New Reloading setup

After a 7-year hiatus, I have gotten back into reloading again for my current calibers - .223, .45 ACP and 9 mm. I got the bench set up a few weeks ago and have been busy processing a big bucket of once-fired Winchester .223 brass that I lucked into recently.

    Any other reloaders out there?

Nice setup....my wife makes me do it in the garage....she hates the guns...but allows me my hobby. The rifle leaning in the corner is a nice touch....lol.

I reload my own shotgun shells. Hunting, and skeet rounds, I find it to be very relaxing.

My uncle has an entire shop of reloading equipment (worlds largest gun enthusiast), he promises to leave it to me when he dies....lol. He got me into it when i was a kid. I thought it was cool to melt the lead and pull the levers. When I was old enough he started taking me shooting. My mother has never forgiven him.

I do some reloading by him as well for my 30-30 Winchester, and my 9mm Glock. I have yet to find a good source of reusable brass for my M1 carbine(Springfield Armory), so I pretty much stick to buying military surplus on that one, seems like most rounds other than the full copper clad military ones always jam on the feed channels. But I do skeet shoot probably 300-400 rounds a month over the winters (2nd barrel replacement on my 15yr old Mossberg already, not a scratch on her :P).

My brother just moved out to Colorado this summer, his first marching order was to find out where I can come out to shoot and hunt. I lived in Laramie, Wyoming for about a year a while back and have never missed a place so much.

    Nice set up.

I use a small Partner Press on a portable Workmate bench, so that I can fold it up and tuck it away when not in use. This way when the wife watches Fried Green Tomatoes or suchsuch, I can be in the living room with her, but doing my reloading at the same time. It works well for me.

RCBS enclosed that nifty hand-priming tool with the Master Reloading Kit. As soon as I figure out how to use it, I can prime bullets while pretending to watch chick flicks with my wife :-)

And Myd ... I see Wideners has some IMI .30 Carbine bullets for sale for reloading. For some reason, Israeli Military Industries is selling .30 Carbine supplies. Odd.

    Very cool.

Even though I haven't handloaded in about 15 years, I still miss it and even have some of my old stuff.

Before I moved to the big city, I used to shoot 4 or 5 days a week year-round, even in the snow.

    (sigh...)

Does Homeland Security know you are still in possession of those items?

Kind of funny that you would mention that. I was going through some old stuff a few weeks back and found a case of 5000 small magnum pistol primers. I seem to remember some stupid failed legislation awhile back that would've classified that as an "arsenal."

I do sort of miss living out in the country...

Let me rephrase that... Homeland Security now knows you have those items.
