Well if ya'll need evacuating I'll be there. I'm on the crew for Sept. I was there after Katrina too. On the first military plane we sent. Then we flew around until Bush called Arky and told them they where taking us like it or not. Yeah that was a fun trip. Somebody broke the crapper too ! Guess who had to fix it?? Fun times fun times.

We're staying and hunkering down here in Baton Rouge. My New Orleans friends decided not to come here and evacuated East instead, which isn't comforting to us...lol.

We've got supplies for at least a week of power loss, which I'm expecting at a minimum. As long as a tree doesn't come through our house, we should be ok. I stayed through Andrew in 92 and I'm hoping this one isn't any worse.

I'll keep y'all posted, and thanks for the offers of help and refuge.

You know, I don't think of myself as a particularly religious person, but if you pray, send a few good thoughts our way. The storm is shifting a bit east, which is very bad for SE Louisiana. I think we are going to get 60 plus mph winds here in Baton Rouge, and New Orleans is being set up to take a real beating, possibly worse than Katrina.

I expect to lose power tomorrow night or Monday afternoon, so I'll keep in touch the best I can.

Hunker down buy a good book and be prepared for some sticky hot nasty weather with no A/C after the cane.

Well we are all set and ready. There's no gas to be found in Baton Rouge, and most of the ATMs are out of money, so I'm glad we took care of those things first. They are saying we should expect 60 mph winds in BR, which isn't anything I haven't been through already. We have virtually 0 chance of flooding.

We stocked up on Jack Daniels and Sprite, but there is no ice to be found in the city, so we may be drinking it warm!
