Dogmeat is good and bad. He's good because he does keep you company and will engage enemies first effectively tying them up while you get your shots in. He's bad because you start obsessing about keeping him alive. Also, when you are trying to sneak he will run up and engage enemies blowing your cover so you spend a great deal of time telling him to stay where he is and not move.

If you were a zombie and I had to kill you, I'd feel sad.

Man, I've been playing this game a quite a bit and feel like I'm maybe only half way through. I only now found Rivet city.

Do you need caps for much in this game other than repairs? i've been burning a lot of time running back and forth to town every time I hit my weight limitation. So lately I've been just leaving non-essential goodies where they lay.

And thanks for the cheat, I walked right past where that junkyard is a long time ago when I went to the Minefield, so never found him. I went back, and immediately upon getting him, I typed that in. Should help maintain a high enjoyment level in the game I think.

Did anyone complete that Technology Museum quest? Apparently I goofed it up before I even knew what it was, and now can't complete it. Looks like there's a nice rifle upgrade if you do complete it. I wonder if there's a cheat that lets you reset that.

I am just heading to rivet city myself and just completed the Dish for 3 dog. Not sure I got an upgrade. The one thing I did do on my last level there was an options to upgrade the amount of wieght you can carry. That helped alot. PLus the combat shotgun rules.

I have played in 2 weeks since getting Left4Dead... but I will get back since I haven't finished it yet. I'm now working on getting the water filtration project going again.

Well I just finished it up. I found the last part to be a little un-challenging, but the ending was OK. I did a save and tried all the variables just to see how they worked out.

I've been playing this weekend, I'm a level 15 "good guy", specializing in science, repair, and small guns (and to a lesser extent big guns and locks), and I only feel like I'm halfway through (I'm taking my time doing every side quest I get before chasing Liam halfway across the wastes.) Caps are useful for upgrading your house and buying building plans. You can easily reach your weight allotment chasing the mats for building plans, but the stuff you can build is AWESOME. Strong Back is the best perk ever.

    Paradise falls

Wups, I walked into town without getting permission and ended up attacked. I obliterated the town.

Somehow I found this satisfying, since it's a town of slavers.

Hope there wasn't something important there that I missed!

I did the same thing. I didn't mess around. I just wiped them all out. Was a tough battle though as there are so many of them and they are quite defensive.

Ditto - I just wiped them all out. Missile launcher worked well to clear the tower and surrounding area

I finished Fallout 3 this weekend. I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Just a bit too dramatic for my tastes I guess. Over all though, this game was way worth the money. I am starting over playing an evil karma character now. I might check out the expansions too...Broken Steel sounds fun and raises the level cap too.
