    Stimulus

Where did they come up with the $850,000,000,000 amount? Did the government recently win the lottery? Or did they just tell every representative and senator to dust off any old request and stick them all together?

How are we paying for this? Do these new spending request become annual? If they are giving $X for a health care issue do we have to continue to give them money henceforth to support that issue? Usually you can't fund projects with a one time wash of money and then cancel them.

I wrote to my Representative on Tuesday and asked him how he was supporting his voters in San Joaquin County by passing this massive spending bill. What exactly in the bill was going to make me safer, my children smarter or my family healthier? I asked him under what constitutional authority the new spending fell under. I asked him how condoms to Africans was good for his constituents. I received no response.

This whole thing just stinks. Every single person that voted democrat two years ago is to blame. They puts these socialists into power and then two years later voted in a socialist president to seal the fate of the American Dream. My great grandchildren are going to be paying for this mess with a 50% tax rate. Where's the clamor about saving Social Security that the democrats where wailing about a few years ago?

I challenge a single Democrat here to give me a reason why the Stimulus package is good for this country. Your political ideology is a joke and I spit in your general direction. Good day Sir. I said, Good day Sir!

Where are the middle class tax cuts that Obama promised to effect 90% of Americans? They're not in this bill.

Obama won the election. Democrats won big in November. This is what America wanted.

Just don't come complaining to conservatives in a few years when we are in even deeper sh!t than we are in now because of this spending.

In 1982, Reagan inherited a similar economy and what he did was CUT TAXES. You know what? It worked. This is what we should be doing today as stimulus. This is big government disguised as stimulus.

Whatever problems you or I may have with the Republicans under Bush, it doesn't change the fact that the Democrats have launched an epic turd here.

All the "yeah but" is pointless distraction.

Want a real stimulus? Cut our taxes by the amount of the proposed plan. Let the public decide who gets the funding via their wallets.

Or you can continue to trust people like this witch.

It's not, Bush's stimulus was a fiasco as well. The Dem congress took a bad idea and made it worse. And they're at it again, moreso. This time the only ones pointing out that the emperor has no cloths are the Republicans. Pelosi is so power mad, that for the first time Ive ever heard of, she changed the house rules such that the Republicans can't amend the bills - effectively eliminating any possible bipatisan dialog. It's pretty scary stuff.

Pelosi will end up screwing Obama... the honeymoon will soon be over, if it's not already. Pelosi could end up being the best thing the Republicans have going for them in 2010 and 2012.
