    Gift Exchange

Not really a 'Obama sucks' but pretty weak none the less:

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/firs...ft-brown-dvds/

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave the president and his children several uniquely historical gifts.

The first of which is a pen holder fashioned from the oak timber of HMS Gannet, a Navy vessel that served on anti-slavery missions off Africa.

Another treasure given to Obama is a framed commissioning paper for the HMS Resolute, a Royal Navy ship that came to symbolize British-American goodwill when it was rescued by the U.S. from icebergs and given to Queen Victoria. It is the sister ship of the HMS Gannet. The Resolute Desk, made from the timbers of the HMS Resolute, has been in the White House for over 100 years and symbolizes friendship between the two nations. It was presented to President Hayes in 1880 by Queen Victoria.

Finally, Brown gave Obama a first edition of Martin Gilbert's seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill, whose World War II partnership with President Franklin Roosevelt symbolized the U.S.-Anglo alliance.

In return, Obama gave Prime Minister Brown 25 DVD's of top Hollywood hits. No word if they are Region Free.

    Stay Classy Barack! Stay Classy.

I have to say though, it's better than what she gave him. A signed photograph of herself? Snooze.

I think he's trying way to hard to be the cool, hip, young president and failing miserably.

What a useful gift for an 82 year-old woman, especially since she already has one. I bet she never even opened the first one. I agree with Swae; the Queen's gift was equally weak. She has obviously learned from Obama's debacle with PM Brown. Why spend the time and money on a thoughtful gift for Obama when you'll just get some last-minute crap in return?

Obama seems focused on insulting our greatest ally as much as possible. Don't forget his first faux pas: Returning the bust of Winston Churchill that was loaned from Britain's art collection after 9/11. An insult to the greatest Brit is an insult to all Brits.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...o-Britain.html

All of this definitely falls under the "Obama Sucks" category.

Say what you want about Bushitler. You might think he is the worst president in history (which means you need to read your history), but you can hardly deny that the guy is a class act. Obummer, on the other hand, is a thug from the south side of Chicago, and it shows.

That's what she has always given visiting dignitaries.

FOX News is now reporting that the Queen requested a video iPod, as she only had an audio one. The iPod was loaded with video of her most recent trip to the US, and songs by some American composer that I haven't heard of.

    Maybe it wasn't that bad.....

The composer was Rogers like Rodger's and Hammerstein the US musical legend. She would be about the right generation for that to be her style.

I'm torn on this one - on one hand it does seem like a cheesy sort of gift, but on the other hand, it took a lot more thought and effort than a signed photograph.

Either way, I don't think this story is worth the hype it's receiving.
