    Phase 1
Zorro takes a jeep and heads to the enemy airfield. He steals a
plane if it's available, he hides and waits if it is not.

Everyone else grabs whatever vehicle is closest and heads in, either
    by east or west bridge.

Bribo will immediately seek to take up residence in Hotel Yorba.

Everyone else head to the church.

If you spawn by the AA gun along the river, keep an eye out for planes.
Hop in the AA gun and take some opportunity shots while you
wait for your ride (the APC or a jeep) to come along.
Folks driving APCs and Jeeps should be on the lookout
for teammates looking for a ride.

    Phase 2
Once we own the church (it has flipped to Axis) we will do the following.
Armada will take his tank into town, supporting both sides (and middle)
as needed. 5,6, and 7 will take the west flag. 8,9, and 10 will take
the east (Bribo is already in position.)

Listen to platoon leader Hale for instructions on where he wants you in the
city. I expect players to be moved around due to enemy activity. If
things get hairy at the East flag, put everyone at the west flag and
push to the middle. Mass your firepower if you are getting overwhelmed.

NOTE: IF we lose the church, or it is turned grey, all folks spawning should
head up there and help us re-assert control. Once the flag is flipped,
you will return to your duties in town.

    Platoon 1
    1 - Hylander
    2 - Gunny
    3 - Stitch
    4 - Faxman

    ---

    Platoon 2
    5 - Hale
    6 - Sonic Boom
    7 - Pix
    8 - Bribo
    9 - War Pez
    10 - Choozoo
    11 - Armada
    12 - Squidly

For simplicity's sake, we'll leave the platoons as is. However,
Fax and Zorro will both take planes and attack the Axis tank columns.
Fax will head to the western bridge and Zorro to the east.

The church and town defenses are as indicated.
Church tankers (1, 11) will press forward to the town bridges (1 West,
11 East) and fall back to the church as needed.

Town defenders shall seek to gum up the bridges by any means possible.
Mines and demo packs should be used by at least one member
    at each bridge.

I'm wondering if we should utilize the B17 on allies. It's something we might want to try tonight in practice.

I'm not going to allocate a full time guy to the bomber, but if one of the pilots wants to take it out for a run I don't have a problem with that.

At a minimum, we might want to consider using the B-17 on the opening play to carpet bomb the column of tanks crossing the Arnhem bridge. That may give the engineers more time to get mines in place.

i just wanted to say about the use of planes in the allied version...

The 2 Best pilots should man the 2 small planes and bomb both bridges. (2 best pilots because it has to be 1 shot 1 kill).

While another person grabs the B17 and makes SURE that bombs fall in the main Axis Bridge... it will be a column of tanks for sure.

Either take 2 or 3 tanks minimum with this move (and more important the Tiger tanks).
    would be a quick blow.

The B17 is a much bigger weapon now but the only downside is the time it takes to get there, if the Axis have their act together they can get across the bridge before the B17 reaches the bridge to do a carpet bombing run, but it still couldn't hurt to do a carpet run and then bail out in their base and take a tank and come up from behind and do as much damage as possible.

We're not going to use 3 full time pilots. If a stone bridge defender (Sonic?) wants to take the bomber out for a run then chute to the stone bridge and start deploying mines, that is acceptable.

I'd like that minefield deployed in time to stop the initial tank push. Will you be able to do that Sonic, or will you be better served using a jeep?

Also, one of Choozoo, Bribo, and Pez should suit as engineer and mine the hell out of the steel bridge.

I agree with you squid 3 pilots fulltime is too many resources being commited. That's why I was saying that the Axis can make it across the bridge in the opening move before the B17 can reach it, pretty much making the B17 non effective as an opening move, my statement about the B17 is if one of our pilots get shot down or if we are getting pounded then one of our ground guys or a downed pilot can respawn and make a quick run with b17 and then chute in where needed. This will also destroy the B17 preventing the Axis from using it should they manage to make it to our base.

The other thing to consider is that if we don't want to use the B17 then maybe in the beginning we should destroy it so that it doesn't get used against us.

I think chuting into the enemy (Axis) base is a great idea (and I'll be doing it, just like last night If I see a tiger, you can be sure that I'll be jumping to grab it.

Destroying the B17 doesn't buy you much. It respawns just like everything else.
Fortunately the B17 won't hurt our ground troups much if they steal one. Market Garden is pretty congested... buildings offer a lot of cover from those bombs.

I'd prefer to go assault or medic. My position is usually camped in the hotel and I need a machine gun in there.

I'm going to guess that the jeep will be faster, but I'll practice with both today and time them. The problem w/ the B-17 is that you get ONE chance to line up with the Arnhem bridge on the opening. What has worked for me in the past is actually bouncing the B-17 off the hill to the right immediately after takeoff. Your gear's still down and it doesn't cause any damage to the plane and it lines you up nicely with the bridge...

Either way, since I'm assigned to the stone bridge, I'm gonna be an engineer on allies. I may even be an engineer on Axis to help clear mines on the opening play.

Sonic the jeep is faster if you take the back way out of our airfield. Remember if they overwhelm you with tanks or shear numbers you can hide at the base of the bridge in the water and still contest the flag while waiting for help.

Yes - this isn't a pub, so don't be a hero. If you're up against a superior force, hide and contest the flag until help comes.
