Played Mass Effect 1...never finished it. Kind of got worn down by the cut scenes and dialog. The same was true of Dragon Age Origins, although I've made it further along in that game.

Can't wait to fire this up. Is it true you can bring your Mass Effect 1 character over? If so, I need to replay that first. I didn't save my dude when I uninstalled it!

I think as long as you have saved game you get pull from there. I am having a blast with it too, but only about 2.5 hours into it. But then I again I liked Star Trek online too! The last patch really prettied it up nicely. Lag is gone and love the space battles. I am a simple farming (gold?) boy from NY. Plus now I can play being a borg.. Lo Rocks of Borg..... I am not promoting anyone to buy STO, it just fits my style of game play for now. Back on topic,,,,, If you like RPGs with FPS elements added, mass effect 2 is very good.

I've just finished Dragon Age: Origins. Fantastic game. Very rich story telling. Loved the interface for the most part.

Was a huge time sink though. Need to take a breather before hopping back into anything. Besides, need to wait for the ME2 on Mac.

Also looking forward to Bioshock 2

You can import your ME1 character into ME2. Depending on some key choices you make in the game will result in how some of the story elements play out in the second one. Things like, who you may have slept with, who you let die on Saren's lab planet. If you saved Wrex, if you chose to let the council die or survive. Who you chose to represent the humans. there is quite a bit that is effected, but isn't a requirement in order to play ME2.

Cool. It's been so long since ME1 that I've forgotten most of the story. A good thing, because it sounds like I'll have to make more-or-less the same choices to see how my original playthrough (which I now consider to be more-or-less canon) affects the new one!

Also looking forward to Bioshock 2. Still haven't finished the original BS yet.

Just completed it with only one crew member passing. Went full Paragon for this play through. Gametime 37hrs 23min.
I'm going to do the ME2 Character import and start my second playthrough and go with the Renegade path now.

From what I am reading it seems like the game is rather short. Would you guys who have completed it concur?

~40 hours is pretty substantial, I think. I have the game, but I still need to finish ME1, which I'm working on (slowly). I don't know where you guys find the time to play 40 hours in a week!

Our wives don't force us to watch Home and Garden or American Idol with them.

It's longer and has more depth then the first game. I have the strategy guide and from the amount of exploring and side quests, I feel with my time invested I only covered about 60% of the game. When you reach the end of the game you are given the choice to continue working on research and side missions with your current level, or you can also import your character back into the beginning of the game and play through again. With the amount of dialog choices and different paths the game can go into, honestly you can play through at least three times to truly experience the entire game. It is that good of a game, and it is that well written.

Finished it tonight, holy crap what a great game. Maybe the best game story I've ever played through. I can't wait to give it another go to see what the "renegade" path is like. Lots of little inside jokes, too. (Did anyone notice the Chandrasekhar system? Ever see Super Troopers or Club Dread? Or how about the nod to fans of "Chuck"....both agents have voices in the game, one prominent and one a side character.) Absolutely fantastic.

I am well along in my second playthrough right now ... awesome game. I'm amazed at how good the graphics are, as well as the writing.
