I performed a Ninja Vent-Login last night. I went into the channel that Rocks was in for Star Trek Online. I heard him sing the following.

    When I was young
    I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
    Those days are gone
    Livin' alone
I think of all the friends I've known
    When I dial the telephone
    Nobody's home

    All by myself
    Don't wanna be
    All by myself
    Anymore

    Hard to be sure
    Sometimes I feel so insecure
And loves so distant and obscure
    Remains the cure

    All by myself
    Don't wanna be
    All by myself
    Anymore
    All by myself
    Don't wanna live
    All by myself
    Anymore

    When I was young
    I never needed anyone
Making love was just for fun
    Those days are gone

    All by myself
    Don't wanna be
    All by myself
    Anymore
    All by myself
    Don't wanna live
    Oh
    Don't wanna live
    By myself, by myself
    Anymore
    By myself
    Anymore
    Oh
    All by myself
    Don't wanna live
    I never, never, never
    Needed anyone

On monday, the developers had to check in all of their work on 'SEASON 2' for Star Trek Online. Expect the content to roll out soon.

Also... Cryptic is working on a new ship for Star Trek Online that has the 'death blossom'.

Probably not as cool as this... but still cool

If you were a zombie and I had to kill you, I'd feel sad.

I wonder if the level cap will be 21 in this one?

    Ouch!

I was in Target earlier and I saw that they have about 10 copies of the Deluxe edition of Star Trek online for $8.87 a copy. I then had a twinge of sympathy for Rocks who is probably one of a thousand people that may still be playing the game.

Don't feel bad rocks, I bought the Collectors edition of Final Fantasy XIV and I regret that purchase 10x more then Warhammer Online and Aion combined.

.....at least I didn't get a lifetime subscription muhahahahaha

I would think anyone who purchased a lifetime subscription would want to get a large portion of their money back.
Talked with my neighbor (Cryptic employee) and it appears that every company is going to be going with a pay-for-play model. They are planning on just giving their games for free but charging for content and add-ons. The model is working EXTREMELY WELL. It really surprised the hell out of them. Revenues for Star Trek exploded once they changed their revenue system.

I see that BF3 is looking at this already.

Rocks: I just tried out Star Trek Online, not too shabby. I'll be playing for the next few weeks.

Cryptic's next MMO with heavy FPS will be going to Friends&Family Alpha release soon. I'll let you know, but I have a feeling it's a Clash of the Titans type of game.

Hey, love to play with you. I am Ny/NJ until next monday, so when I return we can go where no men as gone before. That doesn;t sound good does it. Anyway, you can be the next guild member/officer too..

    Follow-up to pay-to-play.

Microtransactions are bringing in 'hundreds of thousands of dollars' every month for Atari/Cryptic with Star Trek Online. If they release a new costume set... boom, income. A new star-ship design... income. And the work to profit ratio is stunning. They don't have to create whole new instances or release a new CD of content to generate revenue. They do everything small, simple and digital. No packaging, advertising, distribution. They simply announce a new in game goodie, set a small price and watch the fans dish out their money.

It's like Apps. Small, simple, but high-returns.
