    PS3 or XBOX?

After four years of living off of a top ramen and french bread pizza diet as a student, I am finally in the working world. With a bit of extra spending cash I am finally looking to get a console. The question is, which one?

I was hoping you guys had some info one way or another whether the PS3 or 360 would be the best route to go (which one do you guys have?)

Side note: yes I realize I need to get on BFBC2 more often, I'm working on it

If you have an HDTV and are interested in Blu-ray, get a PS3. Otherwise get a 360.

PS3, hands down. The 360 is great if you enjoy repeatedly sending in your console for repairs. I've had a 60GB PS3 (upgraded to 160GB, which took about five minutes) since 2007, and I haven't had a single problem with it.

Here are some other advantages of the PS3 over the 360:

    - Free online service (Microsoft charges)
    - Built-in wifi (Microsoft charges ~$100 for their wifi adapter)
    - Upgradeable with any 2.5" SATA hard drive (If you want a bigger drive for the 360, you have to pay through the nose for a proprietary drive.)
    - Better exclusives (in my opinion), like Uncharted, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War III, MLB: The Show (if you like baseball), Killzone 2, Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, Resistance, Resistance 2, inFAMOUS)
    - Built-in Blu-ray
    - Great controllers with Sixaxis and built-in lithium batteries

Exactly as Palooka explained it. Plus it offers a wider range of UPNP connectivity for streaming media directly to the console, and better Divx/Xvid media file support.

Thanks for the input guys! I think I am going to pick one up this weekend as a birthday present to myself

It definitely seems like the PS3 beats the 360 in most if not all categories. Plus, it seems to have way more exclusive games that I'm interested in. Red Dead Redemption is probably going to be the first game I pick up.

Bojan, you're saying God of War is a good purchase?
Has anyone played Heavy Rain, it looked quite intriguing.

You should pick up God of War 1, then 2, and then 3.

I enjoyed them all. 1 and 2 you can probably get for $10-20 a pop.

I was not impressed with Heavy Rain at all. The game moved at a snail's pace and was very story driven. If you enjoy the pick your own adventure type games then it's worth looking into. It's very hard to replay through once you completed it once.

You can get God of War 1 and 2 for the PS3 with HD graphics. http://goo.gl/XWEw

I have Heavy Rain. I haven't gotten very far, but I think it's a very interesting game. I guarantee you've never played anything like it. http://goo.gl/DnT7

I ended up picking up the PS3 yesterday. I was able to get the 250gb bundle which came with Infamous and Little Big Planet.

Haven't touched either of them yet, though, as I have been too busy having a blast with Red Dead Redemption

Initial though: So glad I went with the PS3!

Red Dead is so much fun. You can get so lost in doing side stuff that it's easy to forget about the main story in the game.

Also, since you do have Bad Company 2. I would strongly urge you to pick up the first Bad Company. It has a friggin great single player game that gives you a great background on the guys in B-Company :-)
