I am still waiting to get an address and find out the funeral arrangements, but I know a lot of people have expressed interest in sending something as a group. I found out this evening that Evan's family has requested a donation to the school band that he worked with in lieu of flowers. For those that didn't know, Evan spent a lot of time volunteering with the local high school band and mentoring the students. He loved music and was very proud of the work he did with the band. His friend is going to send me the school info and I will pass it along as soon as I get it. For those that have sent me money, I will use it towards a single donation on behalf of AK unless anyone objects.

Evan will be cremated in a small ceremony on Saturday evening.

I have not sent anything yet. My plan is to send a card with a donation check to his family next week. Since we are not sending flowers to the service, there is no hurry.

I'm just going to see how it all plays out....if 100 people end up pitching in cash, I'll probably just say it's from the collective us. If I can put everyone's AK name on there though, I am leaning towards that.

It'll be cool if they could see just how big his online "family" was. A lot of times families are totally oblivious to this obsession of ours.

Rhiannis has been trying to work the AK-WOW side, so if her and Swae can work together to make this one unified project I think the impact to the family would be awesome. Swae, please tell me if you think that will work out.

Thanks everyone so far for the donations. I know it will mean a lot to Evan's family and the band.

I will continue to accept donations through the weekend, and plan on sending off a card with the money early next week.

FYI, it looks like we will be sending a donation of at least $500 to the Paso Robles High School Band. I know Evan's family will be touched; thanks for all your contributions.
