Not sure what this has to do with 'jailbreaking' Rocks?

I loaded the Amazon App Store just to try it out... but I see absolutely no reason to have it. Now, their streaming/storage service rocks - but their store doesn't offer anything to the equation IMHO. Besides having to adjust your setting for allowing 3rd party apps to be installed, you have to keep the Amazon market installed or the apps you purchase won't work. It wouldn't allow me to use my Amazon Card as a payment method in the one step set-up, and I just don't see the point for these other markets in the least. The new Android Market has been improved greatly, there is now in-app purchasing, and the web based version is awesome. You can select your app, click, and it automatically starts the download to your phone. I wouldn't load anything on my phone that doesn't come straight from the official Android Market unless I was 100% certain of the creator and source.

Not sure what that has to do with Jail-breaking. I'm pretty sure you can download and install random apps on a non-jailbroken Android phone. Me, I only use the official Market Place App store to get my apps, even though my phone is rooted. And I only used well vetted rooting techniques to root (i.e. Unrevoked).

I didn't root to save money on apps - I rooted so I could remove the bloatware.

Ok, Ok,, This wasnt trying to phishing out all you jailbreakers, which it did work... Nor define the term, just, folks that are willing to temper with their phones to that level, are willing to get apps from " lets say" non traditional channels. I am not saying it bad or good, just a buyer beware post. The said part of it is, the suppliers have to thru such exterme measures to lock down there application sources and OSes, that to really kills innovation. Good post about amazon information too!
