    First Earthquake

That was freakin craziness!! Now I can relate (at some level) to all the poor folks out west who deal with'em on a regular basis. So within the last 6 months, the northeast has seen tornado's and an earthquake.. What's next?

Anyone want to make a friendly wager that we'll get a ridicules 6+ foot of snow blizzard this winter?

That was truly something. There's a construction project across the street with a huge crane--my first thought was that something bad was happening with that. Looks like everything came through more or less OK, though.

Yeah growing up in CA when the earthquake hit here yesterday it was no big deal to me, but people I was on a conference call with dropped from the call and ran out of the buildings they were in

As to whats next OZ they are saying that Irene could drop 10-20" of rain on the NE which I am not looking forward too.

Good point Gunny. Wishful thinking that it moves out to see. Otherwise we can plan on breaking out the candles and a chess board.

Irene is headed our way out here in the east. Hope she turns out to be a dud.

Ike had similar strength back in 2008, and when he came through Ohio the wind storms wrecked us pretty hard.

Stay safe out there on the coast, either way.

I have gas for the generator, beer for the fridge and plenty of ammo to keep the looters at bay. I'm all set!

If I hadn't lost power at 10:30am yesterday morning I might have been able to read Bribo's reply and head to his place. All I did was sit and pout all day :-D

Yeah took a decent amount of time to prepare but nothing happened here, other than some small limbs and other debris around the yard. Oh well at least both generators are tuned up and ready for the winter.
