BTW - I'm listed as SBHylander in game.

Origin banned my BF3 Beta Access for 'Playing on unauthorized servers.' I don't see how that can be since I only played 3 or 4 rounds the other day. And all were on EA named servers! What a mess this game is. I'm thinking of pulling the plug on it and waiting for Modern-Warfare 3.

EA's approach to this game is particularly asinine, from this Origin crap to the Internet browser-based interface. I uninstalled the beta already ... I might give the full game a shot, but I liked the gameplay far less than I did Bad Company 2.

Well I'm on record for not liking another program for managing games, but I'm actually enjoying this game quite a bit and I don't mind the web interface. I like than I can 'alt-enter' easily and move the window and look at other things if necessary. So far the things I don't like (Based on BETA only - many of which will be fixed or different in final release):

    1) No control of squad placement
    2) Lack of communications in game
    3) False death screens. I get shot and it shows a player on the other side of the map.
    4) I can't tell if it's lag, or what - but the empty clip into the back of their head and they stand up and kill you with 1 shot.
    5) Should have been on STEAM

    Things I like:

    1) Graphics and environment. I love the smoke/fire effects.
    2) No apparent spawn camping
    3) Ability to get in prone position

Top 10 Battlefield 3 Open Beta issues and how we are addressing them

We’re more than half way through the open beta and thrilled to see so many people still enjoying the game while continuing to give us great feedback. As part of our dedication to showing you how your feedback is directly affecting and improving Battlefield 3, here are the latest Top-Ten Community Issues that we’re addressing.

    1. Squad issues: Cannot play with friends within same squad, squads get split up onto opposite teams, etc.
There will be improved squad functionality in the retail game (including but not limited to): the ability to create squads prior to launching into a game, sticking with your squad when joining a game and continuing together through future games (If team balance on the server allows it), inviting friends to a squad and changing squads once in game.

    2. Regarding additional Open Beta content and fixes/patches for consoles, including PlayStation 3 issues with chat and party systems
While we would like to patch the Open Beta, DICE is currently focusing its available resources on polishing the retail game.

    3. Will DICE have enough time to iron out everything by release?
Please see General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson's blog post regarding this question.

    4. Can we have ability to change settings/options before deployment into match on PC?
The ability to modify your settings via the deploy screen has been added into the retail game.

    5. Issues with terrain stability and “falling into the map” on Operation Métro
This has been fixed for the beta via a server side update.

    6. Kill cam sometimes zooms out too far or outside the map
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.

    7. A bug that sometimes keeps some players from being able to sprint
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.

    8. Screen flickering/stuttering. Blue screen remains after respawn. Game locks up after deploying C4 (360)
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.

    9. Downed bodies appear to be dead, but are not
The DICE team has been looking into this issue – which is caused by a combination of incidents in a confined area - and are working hard to address the issue for the launch of the retail game.

    10. Why is the hit detection seemingly different from Battlefield: Bad Company 2?
The netcode is one of the many things that we are testing as part of the Open Beta and is not necessarily reflective of the final retail game. The DICE team appreciates and has heard the feedback you’ve provided and is further optimizing online play.

Yeah i hit lvl 47 today and I am really enjoying this so far. It has it's glitches but it is beta and they seem to be working to address most of the issues I have seen in game so far. I have found that the quick match option is very buggy yet when I connect directly from my favorites I have yet to have any problems with connectivity.

According to Amazon, its ship date is 2 weeks from tomorrow--do you guys who've played the beta think they're going to hit their target with at least the biggest issues fixed? There's nothing I hate more than paying $50 for an unfinished game that isn't any fun to play until the 3rd patch.

Beast I haven't seen any issues that are show stopper's IMO and they said they have already fixed most reported issues and are working on the remaining. Granted I have only seen the 1 map but I am really enjoying this so far with the new pc I run everything maxed out and it is incredibly smooth. Looking forward to improvements in the squad interface and checking out the new maps.

I agree with Gunny. Sure, there were sporadic issues of spawns, bottomless pits where you spawned underground in very few locations, etc.. but overall I had alot of fun playing the game. If they addressed the issues they claim they have - it should be in 'decent' shape around the launch time. I still have my pre-order at Amazon. But I'd cancel it immediately if the rumors of them selling it on STEAM were true.

Great to hear. I've been looking forward to this game and was going to be really disappointed if it wasn't ready. I haven't preordered yet--I seldom do. If it's on Steam, I'll buy it there; if not, I'll do a Best Buy stop on the way home from work.

After playing a few games on steam this week and seeing how they crash all the time I am actually glad bf3 is on origin Valve is well aware of the issue and have been for quite some time but are doing nothing to correct it.

I have never had a problem with Steam games crashing ... Half Life 2 and all its variants, Crysis, Borderlands, Metro 2033 ... Portal 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2. No crashes. What games are crashing for you?

TF2 which is HL2.exe and AA3, they finally released an update for tf2 this week but do a search about tf2 or hl2.exe crashing on steam it was a well known problem for a long time that affected a lot of people. It would crash several times an hour and every forum that I go to there were tons of people with the same issue although after the patch it only crashed once for me since the patch which was a huge improvement.
