Shades Aces High... anyone heard of it?

A guy at work here has been talking about it. Sounds like it could be a fun diversion. It is another WWII virtual battelfield type thing but not as "historicaly accurate" as WWII Online, meaning there is a much larger selection of vehicles and the teams are not based on real countries (3 teams going against eachother). But from what I hear it is stable and fun... and has lower system requirements that WWII Online plus a much more accurate flight model. There are no infantry in Aces High though but what a selection of vehicles. Plus no initial purchace, just a 22 meg download to play. And you can do offline practice and network up to 6 or 8 buddies (I can't remember) or play online with thousands of others (for a 15 dollar monthly fee, but the first 2 weeks are free). I figgured it was worth the download sometime when I am feeling a little better.

Sounds a smaller in scale so you don't have the long travel times like WWII Online etc...

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had heard of it.

I've heard of it, but I thought that it only had to do with air combat. The only reviews that I can recall were good ones though. I just can't remember exactly what the game was about. I've been wanting to get in on a good WWII game for a while now.

This one might be worth a try. Just noticed on the website for the 2 week trial you don't even need a credit card or anything just download, sign up with a valid email and play.

I still realy like WWII Online but the variety of equipment is kind of sparse and other problems still plague it (crashes to desktop especialy) but by Christmas it will probably be realy realy good. I have to say it is big leaps and bounds above what it was at release and even with the problems I have a great time in game... when I play it.
