    MOHAA ... another convert.

Okay, I'm sold on this game. Picked it up at Wal-Mart on a whim ($39.94), and have been playing it for hours today. My only complaint is the lack of bloody realism ... and you get used to that quickly if you are a Tribes player.

The multiplayer is great ... the graphics are great ... the weapons are great (although the sights are screwed up on the Garand (both the aperture and the front blade are missing).

All in all ... four stars.

I've been using a very good blood mod that produces satisfying blood squirts and growing pools of blood. You can get it off my server here.

Thanks Palooka. That does look better. Of course, it prompted another two hours of gameplay tonight, so it's now already tomorrow. :-P

I, too, got this game over the weekend. Unfortunately, I had to fix one of my PCs (the one that keeps me connected to the internet), so I haven't been able to play much. Even so, I'm almost to the end of the second mission (the submarine one). I'll put the bloodmod patch on our FTP server for everyone who wants it.

Wait until you get to the giant sea monster level. The map with the hairy valkyries rocks too, but I'm partial to the death sponges myself. Anyway, suffice it to say you ain't seen nothin' yet!

    Cool

No, no, no! The hairy Valkyrie is in Return to Castle Wolfenstein ... or was that your character from Everquest?

    My DAOC character was "DirtyMoNk3Y".

MOHAA certainly takes a turn for the "bizarre" in later levels. It's as though the designers ran out of "WWII stuff" and ran willy-nilly for their Cthulhu novels for ideas.

Some of that stuff make the zombies and techno monsters of RTCW seem like
    tele-tubbies.

Don't even get me started on the Infected Brethren. I still have nightmares about that level.

You mean when the guy tells you to head over to the trench?
You have to jump in the first crater, take the sniper rifle, and crouch down.
Creep up and snipe the two turret gunners in turn, then run to the next hole.
Save often - but judiciously. If you get down to like 10 health, don't save, just restart
and try to do better. Work your way along to the last hole...sniping/running/sniping/running. Now the goal is to get to that trench. Make sure you don't go to the right... there's a minefield by that sign with the skull on it. Head left past the barbed wire then dive in (after sniping the gunners of course.

    Did I say save often?
