I wanna new drug...erm, I mean GAME

DAoC, while still very fun, is starting to annoy me with the slow pace of leveling. All I really want to do any more is RvR, but I get killed quickly at level 32. Then there's the fact that leveling itself is really just a chore to me... Armorcrafting is okay, but SLOW and if there's no high-level tailors on, forget about it...

Basically, it's impossible to find a decent pub T2 game these days, but I don't mind playing and practicing with you guys (though, as I indicated in practice last night, for a family guy 6PM SUCKS...we usually have dinner about that time, then I typically give the baby a bath right after, so even 7PM is a bit of a stretch most nights).

I finished the single player of Ghost Recon last week. Though a nice distraction, I don't think I'll be playing that too much more.

So, I need a new game... What's come out lately that's good? Anything out there that I have missed in the last few months? If not, I think I'm fixin' to go buy me an Xbox.

I'm having a great time with Arcanum right now. If you've ever played and enjoyed Fallout or Fallout2 you'll love it.

I am having a lot of fun playing Halo right now... driving that warthog is a blast. I have that and Project Gothem Racing, which is really hard, but quite enjoyable as well. What games have you played squidly? What else would you reccommend?

For me its been WWII Online and starting this weekend NASCAR Racing 2002. (My new system components arrived today so I'll be building my new system tomorrow night ).

I haven't even played RtCW in over 2 weeks.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a good one.. heard good things about RtCW... heard good things about SimGolf.. into EQ again ... EQ is calling you Z... you know it is.. umm... Bid For Power Quake 3 mod.. Max Payne.. Starcraft... Diablo 2.. the usuals..

Oha.. and starting to get into Table top RPGs... that should be fun..

I LOVE Amped, have been playing a lot of Munch's Oddysee lately too. Obviously, very different types of games from Halo. Bribo can tell you how much we've been playing Amped.

I've finished MOH, and RTCW... besides Arcanum I am also playing SimGolf. Lately I've been avoiding it because I don't have ENTIRE FREAKING DAYS to simply toss away (it's stupidly addicting.)

Well, I went to EB yesterday, hoping to find something new and exciting there, but there wasn't ANYTHING there that remotely appealed to me. I think I'm in the mood for a Star Wars game... Rogue Squadron with updated graphics or something because I sure did spend a while on the store's GameCube playing RS2. Of course that means I need a new joystick since my computer no longer has a game port. Thought about a USB Microsoft FF2, but I can't seem to find one in stock any where (early indications of a new model on the horizon, or just a sure sign that MS no longer wants to compete in the joystick business?). This is kind of depressing, actually...

Here's a possiblity for ya! Too bad it isn't out yet but damn it looks good to me. It's called Battlefield1942. Here's some screenies.

All vehicles WILL be in the multiplayer game (barring unforseen problems, but the developers claim they will be there). This game is made by the same team that made Codename Eagle, which has vehicles and soldiers, etc... and came out a few years ago. And this will be a dedicated server type deal and online play will be free. Though they will probably use Gamespy (ick... can you say All Seeing Eye?).

Shots of ships on the waterline make me ache for some good, old-fashioned WW2 Submarining, ala the game Gato that I played back in the mid to late 80's on my Apple II/e. But, that game does look pretty promising... Just hoping it doesn't turn out to be the letdown that WW2OL was. Thanks, Widow... I'm less depressed now...

Oh, and this game is comming out for the XBox shortly after the PC release.

It is all down to implementation. Nice eye candy and all but if it is not implemented well it will suck. We'll see. It just looks so good that I am highly anticipating this baby.

P.S. WWII Online has come a long way since the first few months of crap. The game is far better now, in fact I miss my account. I was even thinking of reactivating it but I can't find my bloody CD anywhere, I probably left it at work.
