What about IL-2 Sturmovik? It is possibly the most critically acclaimed flight sim of all time, and it is by far the best WWII flight sim ever released. From what I've read, the multiplayer is excellent, so it sounds like a great game for AK play. I'm thinking about buying it ASAP. Anyone else interested?

Oh, and this game is comming out for the XBox shortly after the PC release.

It is all down to implementation. Nice eye candy and all but if it is not implemented well it will suck. We'll see. It just looks so good that I am highly anticipating this baby.

P.S. WWII Online has come a long way since the first few months of crap. The game is far better now, in fact I miss my account. I was even thinking of reactivating it but I can't find my bloody CD anywhere, I probably left it at work.
hmm.. i thought they released the full version on the web and incorporated a 7-day trial into it... check slothplanet.

Yes, WWII Online has come a long ways. I've been playing it for a little over 3 weeks now and am enjoying it greatly.

They just released a minor patch yesterday, but there is another one coming out Monday or Tuesday that is adding a few new weapons to the fray. Most important to me of course is the British Matilda. So now when you play British, you have exclusive British equipment, and if you are playing French, you have exclusive French equipment.

It's not a 'beautiful' game in terms of graphics, but it's very good in the areas that count.

Well, I downloaded the full version from the website and since I already had an account I did not need to re-enter my subscription key. I am back on WWII Online, been messing around with it for an hour today and had great fun. It is nice to crawl back into the cockpit of a Blen Mk1 and do some low level bombing of targets, I have not lost a lot of skill in the couple months I have been away. Of course one first needs to have skill to loose it, guess I had little to loose

My name in WWII is "reynark" but I am trying to get that changed. I chose it as a placeholder name when I created the account because I could not think of anything I wanted that someone else did not already have. Then it turns out, of course, that you can not change your username, this was intended to keep people from "griefing" then changing their name for anonimity. But come on, they HAVE to let us change our name if we don't want to keep it. But I have to go through some rediculous appeal process to change it though they promise to give us some ability to change user name... "soon".

As I said before the game has greatly improved since release. I actualy find it a lot of fun now. I love multi crewing but since I usualy play Allied I don't get a lot of opportunity, historicaly the players on Allied don't do much multi crewing. When I play German I see a lot of it, someday the allieds will learn why they keep getting pushed back.

Can't wait for the next patch, I understand there will be a german medium bomber (I think) and a brit med/heavy tank to fill out the british armor roster a bit. Can't wait for better inf model (which I have read good things about from the developers) and new inf weapons!

A frined of mine helped me out in getting the Warfraft 3 multiplayer beta... so I have been playing that a fair amount. Not a huge fan of the online play of those type games, but I can't for the single player version to hit the shelves.

Not sure how to actually get all the files for the beta sice my friend just burned me a disk, but if you are interested head over to http://www.war3pub.net/ I think they have infor on it.

Actually, Palooka, I did pick up the box for IL-2 several times, but realized I no longer have a joystick... I keep waiting for MS to announce the next big thing in FF joysticks...
