DSL setup almost here.

The idiots tried to deliver to my apartment but... *gasp*... no one is there during the day. I told them that several times and requested they deliver it here to my work where I could sign for it.

They were suprised that no one would be aat home to sign for it. Did they ever hear of... a job?

Anyway I again requested they send it here so I can get it. They say it should be tomorrow.

I wanted it tonight, damnit. Trying to play BF1942 with a 1000ms ping (at times) with the best time being about 230ms on my cable modem is most frustrating. And tomorrow night I have to go over to Yakima to visit my folks so I won't get to set it up or play with it till next week. Everquest is even unplayable with the current performance.

Damn UPS to hell (not realy angry, I just want my DSL now!).

My cable server blows Rance's DSL to hell. My speed is generally at least 12 times as fast. He can pull down data at 30-some-odd K/sec. I pull down 300-400 K/sec. He may ping some online gaming server at 170ms, I ping at 55ms. My cable roxors his socksors.

I ping game servers at 200ms to 1000ms during "peak" hours. Off peak it is 150+ms. And AT&T has the gall to tell me that is within specs and they will not act on it. I would venture to say they suck.

Package just arived in my hot little hand. If only I was not leaving town tonight. I'll probably delay my departure till I am set up on it... just to make sure it works (they claim all the telco and covad switch over stuff is done, but I like to see it to believe it).

Monday I hope all my ping woes will be gone, I may not have a "rocking" low ping but sub 200 I'll be happy with
