My 14 month old little boy is obsessed with the intro movie to BF1942. Last night he watched it five times in a row, and then threw a fit when we made him go to bed. A few days ago he watched it nine times in a row. (For those of you who haven't had kids yet, this kind of repetitive watching is pretty normal for toddlers. Except that usually they go for something a little more child-oriented.)
Obviously, I'm pleased as punch that he wants to watch WWII tanks, planes and ships. The trouble is that the intro is only about a minute long, and we get tired of starting it over for him, over and over and over. I would loop the intro movie if it were a separate file on the BF1942 CD, but it seems to be wound into the .exe.
So I want to put together a similar movie file that I can loop on the computer. I don't want gore or people getting shot, just the tanks, planes, ships, etc. and some explosions. I'm planning on renting some WWII DVDs this weekend, pulling the good scenes off, and stringing them together into a longer version of the BF1942 intro. So my questions are:
1. How easy is it to use a computer to pull video clips off a DVD? (I don't know much about DVDs.)
2. Any recommendations on movies with good non-gory sequences of WWII machines in battle?
