Dusty should have kept Ortiz in, and Bonds should have kept his head in the game rather than daydreaming about giving his Hall of Fame induction speech. After his homerun, he made two feeble, fumbled plays in the outfield and struck out in a pathetic display of limited self-control. Oh well, he's still the best ever.

The Giants had better start Rueter tonight. The Angels ate Livan Hernandez for lunch last time; they seem to like pitchers who throw a lot of straight fastballs because they're a bunch of young, inexperienced free-swingers. They can't seem to be able to tell the difference between a ball and a strike in high-pressure games, which is why someone like Reuter, who makes his living throwing off-speed junk, can manhandle them.

Was I right or was I right? Hernandez blew, and when Dusty finally put Reuter in, he dominated. Too bad it was already too late. Dusty made a lot of managerial mistakes besides starting Hernandez tonight, including starting Feliz as the DH, taking Sanders out, batting Shinjo in the 9th, and waiting too long to take Hernandez out. Livan was terrible from the get-go, showing a lack of control both in his pitching and his emotions. Even had these mistakes not been made, the Giants still would have lost, most likely. They simply weren't producing offensively. Had Reuter started, he would have had to pitch even better than Ortiz did yesterday to give the Giants a chance.

I agree, that and the Giants just didn't seem to want it as much as the Angles. But they gave San Francisco a great season, did more then anyone thought they would, and that is good enough by my standards. Tomorrow the Giants are holding a free rally at packbell park, and I will be there for sure to show my support for a great team.
