Anyone figure out if its worth anything? I'm assuming its ladder legal, however we should probably make sure?

I know Pancito was fooling around with it to see if its an accurate hit predictor. Any luck?

i have played with it for a week now, the "sure" way for me to know that i hit someone dead on, is they get "confused" and start shutting in an uncontroled manner, therefor i stop a sec or 2 and get at it. when im a sniper is a good thing because i know i shut them, but if you hit them in the head or in any plance of the body, is the same amount of "blood" spilled. and it's not gush and gore like some games, its very light.

A test could be good i tried last monday but it was to late (can someone dare to be guinie (sp??) pig?) , sidenote i still dont have the setting for ts.

    Warning about Blood Mods.

    a) I thought it was illegal for the ladders?

    b) Many blood mods are trojans that send your CD key to someone which is why you see so many problems with people not being able to log on due to "CD already in use" errors.

Yes, just play with the base game. Do not install mods, blood or otherwise.
If you have already done so, please uninstall and re-install 1942.

Why? the blood mod is nothing more then another file that goes in a folder in bf1942, it's from bf1942.com i havent had anyproblems whatsoever, i understan the concern about mods and stuff, but for me bf1942 is kinda like linux, if you never install and try anything where would linux be???

again i understand the safety issues but when i mod the actual exe file or something like that.

for me its cool that people take time (yes there are bad people also) to create and draw another plane a machine gun in top of the jeep. i'm not going to install every mod out there but there are a few that look interesting.

i didn't installed sp1 for xp because i read somewhere that people have problems with bf after installing this patch. go figure

    EDIT
---i don't install cheats (no fog cheat, etc, etc) those mods are bad because they give you an advantage over people. cheats is not the same as mods.

Any mod use is illegal when it comes to TWL participation. Hence we will continute to mandate that our players use the base game and nothing but the base game.

That is sad to hear, there is a flag mod that changes the German and Japanese flags, making them "historical". I like it because the curent german flag does not fit with my sense of how it should look, the nazi flag in the mod is closer but I personaly prefer the old red background with black cross in the white circle that was in the demo and WWIIOL as in my mind I associate that flag with german in these games. I also like the rising sun flag for the Japanese in the mod.

At least the flag mod comes with an uninstaller so it can be easily uninstalled. But I do understand the TWL requirement. With the uninstaller it is a simple matter to uninstall prior to matches but reinstall when the mood strikes you for "pubbing".

I don't believe that client side mods are considered to be illegal... If they are, they should not be... The blood mod in question is not a cd key trojan. It's simply a texture replacement... Similary, I have installed a DoD sound pack on my bf1942... It doesn't change or enhance my gameplay, so I'm pretty sure it's totally legal, much like the blood and flag mods...

Rather than get into an eternal and non-winnable debate about what is legal/notlegal cheating/notcheating, TWL has taken the stance that all client side mods are off limits.

If you are desperate for the blood patch or similar stuff, simply install the game twice and mod one version of it.

I totaly understand the policy on mods. If you start allowing the benign mods then you start getting into debates about some mods that might be seen as a "gray" area.

Much easier to just have a blanket policy and actualy makes more sense in the long run if you want to maintain a professional atmosphere. I will make sure I remove the flag mod when I get the time to compete in an actual match (workload for the next few months is especialy high here).

Mods were much more of a mess in T2, because the game was designed to allow client-side scripts. It's hard to argue the legality of mods in BF1942, where the designers didn't intend anything like that.

To see where modding leads, think of finding all the uniform textures and turning them to neon colors. It's not a hack, but it sure makes it easier to find those enemy soldiers.
