    Monday Practice Notes

Thanks to everyone who showed last night. The Scrim with the Kindread has been pushed back to next Monday.

Good to see Argyle there, as well as Pancito and WarPez.

Teamspeak kept dropping me...was anyone else having that problem?

It resulted in a very quiet practice...sort of odd after getting used to
    constant chatter.

Wednesday is the scrim with HOR. See the private 1942 forum for
    information.

I also had issues with TS lastnight it dropped me 2 or 3 times and the third time when I came back only one person was on so it was obviously affecting more than just one or two people which is good to know. I had a new pc lastnight and thought it mught be me so I am actually glad to hear that other people had issues as well, at least I know it is not the new hardware.

I was only on for about an hour last night, but had big time lag problems after I thought I'd gotten everything worked out. I didn't get disconnected from TeamSound, but voice quality seemed a good deal lower than normal.

Unfortunately, I found out this morning that the campus network was slammed yesterday by a Klez-like virus that found the university's mailing lists for classes, majors, and dorms. It seems to be better today, though, so hopefully we won't have any more of these problems.

Well personally I had a lot of fun last night, although I don't feel like I was playing as well as I could. I was over at War PEZ's place of work, using someone elses computer so everything felt a little off... but because Pez and I were sitting five feet from one another, voice coms were great. Gave me a taste of what a LAN might feel like, will have to try to swing one one of these days. Stalingrad was especially fun near the end, Pez and I taking on Squid, Fax and Argyle, good practice for when we have to play this map in the actual match.

Exactly. That map scales great. You can have a truly valuable practice even with just 2 people...

I had some very odd TS issue(s). After installing the new version. I can join into the channel. However my mic settings are set to mute and before I could talk just fine. Now if my mic is checked as mute, then I am not heard in the game. but if I uncheck mute then you guys can hear me. But then I also hear myself through my speakers,, ugh!!! what the hell am I doing wrong!

it sure was fun, i like the small maps better, i only had one rule: stay close to hale, i hate spawnning in to granades (wich i did a few times) and i guess i cant outsmart tank shells that good.

i had issues at ts as well, for some reason some voices i can hear with out a glitch for a second or 2, and some other voices its very choppy.

kursk was another story more allied then axis, but it was cool.

I had a lot of fun camping in the German HQ as a Ruskie in Stalingrad.

Some people were crystal clear on TS last night, others very choppy. Apparently I was choppy for some people and not others as well.

I brought up task manager and killed off some extra processes which seemed to help a bit.

The same thing happened to me after I upgraded my sound card. Haven't figured that curveball out yet.

Sounds precisely like the problem I was having. If you are using an Audigy with the Audigy Drive, and your mic is plugged into the drive, the mic is considered mic 2. Even if you're not using an Audigy, mess with the mic 2 settings to see if they make any difference.
