TRIBES 3 Tidbits? [December 11, 2002, 10:57 PM EST] -
A story on TribalWar.com recapping an unlinked post on their forums from Sierra's Alex “Marweas” Rodberg has vague word on plans for a continuation of Dynamix/Sierra's TRIBES online shooter series, saying: "I'm confident in the team we have assembled for this daunting task. I can't wait to introduce you to them so we can get fans involved in the process as early as possible. When? When we make the official announcement, sometime next year." Meanwhile, they also link to another post from Marweas with a little poem (no really) about plans for the game, culminating with the following:

No more a question - may or might
The next Tribes game got a green light.

They already killed Tribes... why do they have to grind it into the ground any more?

Penny Arcade had a strip about this, and I'm lost.

I thought T2 was great. It was a bigger, more elaborate version of the original, with more weapons, more vehicles, and generally more everything.

The problem with T2 was that they wouldn't leave it alone after release. Every three months they would change the physics, which was torture. How is another Tribes any different from another UT, another Quake, or another Age of Empires?

I never played the original Tribes but I loved Tribes 2. I never minded the original T2 and I liked the base++ mod. I hated the Classic mod.

Depending on what's new I could see myself getting back into tribes when this is released.

I'm with ya there, Bribo. Heck, if they had left the poor game alone, I might still be playing T2.

Actaully T2 now is better than ever, IMHO, I just never play it cause I'm busy with the newer games.

Don't poke it with a stick it ain't done yet. I agree the incessant changes to the game have made it a challenge to continue playing. I look forward to a T3 that fulfills a majority of the communities needs.
I mean who wants to play a game without jetpacks?
