Exchange client for Mac?

Does anyone know a good client for connecting to an Exchange server from a Mac? (Our Exchange server is being upgraded from 5.5 to 2000 over the holiday.) We're especially looking for one that works with OS X. I believe OpenOffice has an Exchange client--would Linux software work on OS X?

Doesn't Office X have an Exchange client? It's called Entourage, I think. In response to your bits about Linux software on OSX, the answer would be no. OSX is based upon Darwin which is more BSD than Linux, and BSD software won't even work on it... The biggest reason is because it's a PowerPC platform and not an Intel one... Try as they might, operating systems can't insulate applications from hardware architectures. It's why Intel-based Windows NT applications won't work on Alpha platforms running Windows NT.

I think you might be right about Entourage, Zorro. I can't remember why that wouldn't be a viable solution to us. Thanks for the info about OSX and Linux software.
