I'll be playing it. I have done about zero research into the game, I mean why when I know I'll be buying it.

I am not enamored of the jedi though.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a good blaster at your side.

Its a really really big game, i'm reading the FAQ section from Lucasarts and i still dont have a 100% clear idea of the game.

I havent played Everquest or anything like that ever. I dont like Magic and funny stuff and things i cant understand.

But i have read a few books about the StarWars Worlds and have seen the movies a few times like others So i dont feel like im getting in to something really really new.

Plus i have owned almost everything StarWars related for the PC so i cant go wrong.

Any online game that you need to get a job for future level enhancement is beyond me. Maybe that is why I never got a character past level 16 on Everquest or past level 25 on AC. Give me something simple!!! Like BF1942!!!!

Here is the skinny I've gotten on star wars from various people. It is incredibly involved. Supposedly you are born on a planet and have to work and get money to buy yourself off of wherever you live and it takes many hours of game play to get into any scenario. Which is fine in my book because I think lucasarts arts have always been the inovators in role playing/adventure games and why not use it on their greatest money maker; star wars. I am looking forward to the game.

I will be picking up the game. Haven't played a MMORPG since DAoC and pretty soon I will need my next fix.

Me and a coworker were planning on getting a cantina and trade business going. We're hoping it'd be one of the biggest in the game. Although, neither one of us knows how to get one started since the game isn't out yet but I'll make a thread about it sometime in the future months.

I wouldn't mind trying it, but it appears too involved and pricey, for simple dabbling.

I won't be picking this up; I won't pay to play. $50 for the box (plus, coming soon, another $50 a month for DSL) is plenty to spend on gaming when there's plenty of quality titles available to play online at no extra cost.

The way I see it is thirteen bucks a month is nothing if you get quality fun out of it. What do you spend on going to a movie? Do you get 40+ hours of fun out of it?

You get the first month free with the purchase of the box with all these games (standard practice) and the monthly fee realy is not much. When I first started EQ I was jaded on the whole monthly fee thing but I realized that it realy was not much and I was not buying a whole lot of other games anyway so why not?

It all comes down to a personal preference deal, but the pay to play model is realy not all that bad. If it were 30 bucks a month then that would be different.
