I was able to authorize my Raven Shield CD key with the help from the updated link from Ubi Soft Tech support below. I didn't have to exchange my copy for a new one after all.

Ok, more problems.. wondering if someone can help out. The fix stated in that link above is as follows:
Windows 98 / 98ME users (specific instructions):
First, open a DOS command window by clicking on ‘Run’ from the Start menu and typing “WINIPCFG”. By changing your selection with the drop-down menu, find the one that does not have a default gateway attached and write down its description (i.e. the string in the drop-down menu). Then open the network adapters (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network), choose this one, and disable the TCP/IP protocol.
Ok, I did this, and I then couldn't connect to DSL. It says to disable the TCP/IP protocol in network settings, but under that adapter, TCP is the only protocol listed. Am I doing something worng... Why the hell does this need to be done to check a stupid cd key anyway. Never had any otehr game ever do anything like this.
Oh, by the way, it did work at the very begining, but once I restarted my computer, the adapter I changed was no longer listed in the network settings, and that's when I couldn't connect to dsl.

Nevermind, it's working now. Not a clue what I did, but whatever works.

Not working anymore. This is stupid.
