Can you get in?

Now that I've downloaded half the internet, I can't get in!


When I pick Sanctuary or Instant Action, I get disconected from the world and sent back to the desktop.

Anyone else getting this, any ideas? I did a full scan and I'm current.

Are you running a AMD processor?? If so then the game is too cool for AMD.

After downloading the huge patch last night I got in fine but lag was so bad any action in the sanctuary took almost a minute to respond. I think their bandwidth was choked. You may have better luck getting in today.

Oh, and I have an AMD processor and the game works just fine with nary an error. When I get a CTD it has always been due to a server crash, sometimes it CTD's when I loose connection. Otherwise I have never gotten an error and the game runs just fine.

Edit: Oh, and I checked the beta site. Many people were having the old "Connecting to World" bug where it gets to there then fails to connect sometimes forcing an ending of the task to get out. It has happened with every patch so far. Might be bandwidth related but it has always been server side and cleared up in the day or so after. If that is what was happening to you I would bet it works fine tonight but it may not.

I don't CTD, I got a sequence of errors that deposited me back to the desktop. I think the server went down right after I posted the first message.

You are running ME, Hale?

Damn, no wonder you are having trouble. Change to a good OS like XP ASAP! I mean, realy, ME is the windows equivalent of an AMC Gremlin. Ugly and problematic. Even Microsoft is embarassed about that OS.

It's not ME... the connection problems are common. Another problem is the inability sometimes to join (or recall to) Sanctuary. Sometimes all you can do is instant action (folks in game were saying "sanctuary is down!")

I was able to get on briefly today, but Sanctuary was down and I eventuall got connection lost, and was unable to rejoin.

So don't feel too bad, Hale, just keep trying...it'll come back up eventually...

Aw, I know it's not the OS causing the problem.

I just dislike ME, we have so many problems trying to get users on it able to use our VPN implementation. It's TCP/IP stack seems realy unreliable for us.

Did your error look something like this?

If so there may be a fix I can give you.

I didn't get that error, althought recently the game told me I had 0MB on my video card and I had to reboot.


I actually got into the game! I couldn't get into the Sanctuary, but I did do some instant action.

I think I hacked something, but I guess I didn't defend it because the other side took it back. Kinda laggy.

There was a post about the 0 video memory bug. It seems to be fixed by re-running the patch program (rebooting then going in again is the same thing).

If it were me I would make sure I did a full scan at the patch screen. It realy does not take more than a couple minutes usualy.

The sanctuary has been having problems since they did the character wipe with the last patch. It's just congestion, they are working on it and it will clear up a bit as people get their new characters worked out.

Some bases have cert terminals to set your certs but I can't remember which ones. The sanctuary has them for sure.

When you hack a base command terminaly it takes 15 minutes for the base to switch to your side. The intent is for you to hack it then you and friends hold it for 15 min then it is yours. If someone hacks your base you can stop that timer by re-hacking at any time then they have to do the full 15 min again.
