    Music Sample and More

Last night while a few of us were getting beat up, we talked music for a little while. I wanted to just ask in general at the current time what CD's are in the current rotation for regular listening. Since I'm starting this thread I'll go first.

    Current CD Rotation

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Arch Enemy - Anthems of Rebellion
    Pink Floyd - Pulse
    HATEBREED - Rise of Brutality
    BT - Emotional Technology

I usually just set the ipod to shuffle through a couple thousand mp3s. To tell you the truth I don't remember the last time I played a music cd. Is that bad?

I've got a ton of CDs kicking around my car (as always), most of which are compilations of one sort or another. Here's the ones I'm listening to most that aren't "home brews".

Ben Folds (Five) - Rockin' the Suburbs and (Whatever and Ever Amen)
The Strokes - Is This It
    Guy Clark - Craftsman
Johnny Cash - American III: Solitary Man
    Cake - Motorcade of Generosity

I've been curious to give Hail to the Thief a listen, Bribo...I'm given to understand it's more like The Bends (which I loved) than Kid A and Amnesiac (which I thought were just OK). Is that the case?

I'd say it's more of a merger of The Bends and Kid A/Amnesiac. I think it's a great album. Of course I like all their albums. I could provide you a "sample" if you like.

I don't have a 'top' list per se, but these are the ones I've been listening to lately on my iTunes playlist:

Double Drive - Blue in the Face
Foo Fighters - One by One
    Revis - Places for Breathing
    Trapt - Trapt
Frank Sinatra - Songs from 4 CD Reprise Collection
    Creed - Weathered
    Matchbox 20
    Maroon 5
    Nickelback

But after I've consumed Skyline Chili, and the pain and bloating caused by the food poisoning effect of that substance sets in, and the cramps and gaseous activity is beyond description, I'll listen to White Stripes to induce vomiting.

There is nothing wrong with skyline chili at all, as long as you use it for it's intended purpose.... kill rodents and pests and gas terrorists out of their bunkers.

Squid sent me two cans of Skyline whcih we prepared as recommended on the can - over spaghetti, topped with diced onion and cheddar cheese. It wasn't that bad - i gave it a 6 out of 10. My wife liked it. She ate two helpings and all the left-overs. My son liked it but said he didn't like the texture (purreed meat). Myu daughter to one look and one teeny taste and said "I hate it!"

no more mp3 server, no more internet at home actually. Trying something new where I actually get work done! Not sure how long this will last, but thought it was worth a try.

No internet at home!? Damn, Pix, don't you think that's a bit extreme? Why don't you just get rid of the refrigerator while you're at it? After all, eating will keep you from working, too.

That reminds me of the CEO at work suggesting, as a means of remedying a supposed lack of dedication on my part, that I forego taking a lunch break (he wasn't kidding) in order to be more productive. This coming from a guy who is so skinny, he looks as though he could break in half should a strong gust of wind hit him. In fact, he was literally shaky at the time due to malnutrition; he demonstrated this to me by holding up his trembling hand with an expectant look on his face, as though I would be inspired by his dedication such that I would resolve to become as maniacal a workaholic as himself. The guy has a wife and two babies at home, yet he actually keeps (or kept; I'm not sure if he still does) a sleeping bag in his office.

I could go on about how crazy some people are at my place of work, but you wouldn't believe me.
