As always I buy all games. Chrome is sitting on my desk to be played along with: Empires, Commando's 3 and H+D 2. I will let you know about Chrome, but the reviews are mixed. Some good, some bad. http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/537904.asp

It does look promising but I just got done messing aorund with the demo. I quit after about 45 mins of online. The SP might be ok, but it just doesn't cut it for me. HD2 stinks as well. I bought it and since sold it on ebay.
My comments (and screenshots) pertain to STALKER, not Chrome. Sorry for hijacking your thread.
And HD2? What's that? Some sort of Home Depot game?

Stalker has graphics that are, in some of the screenshots, nothing short of photo realistic.
Hidden and Dangerous 2 : Looks good! Movement and gameplay are lacking a bit. SP isn't very good. Multiplay might be decent after a patch or two. I had issues staying connected to servers and some graphics issues in single play. Game might be ok after it is patched. Lesson learned here; don't buy a game til you play the demo.
Chrome is just not good. It's like it's low budget or something. Movement feels wrong and everything else is just generic. I might be wrong but I didn't like it. We'll see what they do with.
The Stalker screens look fantastic!!! Is it single player only?
COD is pretty damn good! One thing that bugs me is that it is the q3 engine. That means cheats out the wazoo and that annoying jumping around thing.
It's a bit sniper heavy. Maybe make it a bit harder to hit with the rifles at long ranges. Overall, COD is very fun and worth buying. The feel of the guns is fantastic and it looks great. TDM firefights are excellent. Just don't plan on league til play the cheats get cleaned up.
I'm waiting on HL2 myself!!!

you can limit snipers by team in the server config
some of those pure sniper maps are annoying, and almost cause me to log
Strangely enough, I enjoy the sniper levels as a break from the mad grenade rushes of the other maps. I find that I do better on those maps if I run around with the pistol. Then as soon as I see an enemy in the distance, I dive to a prone position, switch to rifle and plug them. You can do the whole maneuver pretty quickly.
Regarding Stalker - there will be multiplayer. The standard deathmatch/teamdeathmatch, coop, and interestingly - Human -v- Mutant.
The solo play is a free-form FPS role playing game. Basically think of Fallout, and you'll get the picture. You can run anywhere and do whatever you want. There will be mini-quests, etc, as well as the main quest.

How do you limit snipers to a certain number, Chooz? I can take the sniper rifles out entirely, but I know of no way to set a specific limit per team.
Limiting the number of snipers would be cool. Yes having a sniper map is kinda cool, but almost everymap is becoming a sniper war.
Is there a demo out for Stalker?
