    Mozilla and FTP Sites

    Here's a new one Sport's fans:
For some reason when I click on a FTP site url, my Mozilla time's out. It will not go there.
Has anyone run into this before?

    Post a site for example.

I've never had a problem with Mozilla and ftp.

Which version of Mozilla are you using.

    DD,

I've read where sometimes ftp sites that do not allow "Passive Mode" will lock up web based ftp connections. Have you tried connecting with an ftp client? Also, have you tried connecting to many ftp sites with Mozilla or is it just one in particular giving you trouble?

BTW - I'm using Mozilla Firebird, not the "normal" Mozilla distribution.

    Thanks for the response guys!!!!

One thing I just did was go to Linux FTP Sites and I can connect no problem in Mozilla.
It seems I cannot connect to the private FTP site that the guy out in Cinn. has setup. Since it's a company server I can't post it here.
But, I asked him what type of mode it's in. He said passive moe, and it is passworded.

    Any thoughts???
BTW I can connect to it no problem in Windows Explorer.

No idea other than to use IE

As I mentioned above, I have read about problems with Mozilla and passive mode FTP servers... but I'm not sure what the solution is, if there is one.

Here is a really good FTP program that does alot. It's shareware for 30 days then you gotta register it. But if you need a quick fix it's worth a try.

If you need an FTP Client... I can "provide" you with a WS_FTP Pro, as that's what I use.

If you need a good 'free' one, I always preferred Smart FTP.

i personally use flashfxp for its extensive features, queue capabilities, and you can make a file that will open up the program, connect to a ftp, and download specified files without intervention.
