Kvm
Hey all,
I'm going to be adding a modest Linux box back to my network probably sometime next week. The price is right - FREE! A gateway 1.2gig Athlon (Thunderbird) system with 384mb of SDRAM. Has onboard sound and video, but I already have a SoundBlaster LIVE! card to put in there and the motherboard does have an AGP 4X port on there so I'll get a video card as well and it should be strong enough to run a decent setup using SuSE Pro 9.0. Hell, my old Mandrake 9.1 system was on a Celeron 400mhz with a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI card so this should seem like a screamer in comparison!
Anyways, I just bought this off EBAY: Belkin SOHO KVM
It's a little late to be asking your opinion since I already bought it obviously, but I was just wondering if any of you guys use or have used electric KVM switches and have any suggestions? This KVM got pretty good reviews from the searching I did. You can see the specs on the EBAY auction, but it supports PS/2, USB, and Audio / Mic.
I'll be sharing the keyboard/mouse/speakers/mic between the linux box and my WinXP Pro FTP Server / DirecTV DVR & Viewer system.

I use three different products here at work:
The Aten MiniView 2-port KVM:

(Reviewed here for LINUX usage)
http://www.42u.com/miniview-2-port.htm
And the Belkin OmniView E series 4-port KVM:

And the Linksys Proconnect 2 2-port KVM
http://linksys.com/products/product....id=134&scid=45
So far I've only had a problem with the Aten KVM. However I must admit that it was on a Windows 95A PC and a Novell 3.1 Server (Compaq Proliant). Occasionaly the keyboard KVM shorcut (CTRL x 2) failed to work from the server.
