    webpage

maybe one of you guys can get up with me on ventrilo and give me some idea of costs and running/designing a business website for me. I have a possible venture and will have to have a site on the web. It will have to have a certain amount of data base in it.So, if anyone can give me some ideas, it would be much appreciated.

I'm in my final class to complete my Masters (MBA) with a concentration in E-Commerce and I manage our Online Banking Branch here at the Credit Union (As opposed to all those damn Fleet Bankers we have around here ), so if you aren't looking for someone with nuts and bolts programming expertise, and looking more in terms of structure, model, content, transactions, security, etc. I'll help with some input if requested.

I know basic HTML as well as some real basic PHP, CGI, and PERL. But my overal web programming skills and MySQL / database knowledge is on the Basics level.

Okay, here's my two pennies from my small jar of pennies. I don't know jack about running a business on the web. I can insert urls and bold text into HTML and I can spell SQL. However... one thing I do know... PHP-Nuke is easy. If I can do it, anyone can. The company that hosts my domain has a one-click install of PHP-Nuke and it's simple as pie to run and manage. Maybe this will help you, maybe not. But I'd look into PHP as it seems simple and there's a ton of free plug-ins for it too (photo gallery, bulletin board, and even a b2b addon: OSCOMMERCE.)

I use PHP-Nuke for Husted.cc, and although I like it - the big problem is updating it. It sucks to update because you end up losing all your customizations. I have so many custom config files, etc than when I upgrade, I lose many of them and then have to go through all the mods, etc one by one and pull the needed configs from the back-ups I make.

I've seriously been considering using something much simpler, like Moveable Type that Squidly uses on his page.

Fade? I think the word you're looking for is "fad".

    Glad I could help.

Well Mister gammar I wish you were hear a 2.30am when I posted this. But as always you are right! Fad doesn;t have an "e". I guess with all the Online internet stuff, E-everything.. Ebay,Ebgames,Electric,E-world,E-commerce and E-mail. I just like adding "E"s.

    Later e-friends.

Actually they can't as federal regulations prohibit merging or acquiring that would give you in excess of 10% total deposits, you can continue to develop new business over that, but can't buy your way over 10%.
