Usenet News Server

Do any of you guys know of anyplace to rent a private News server? Or is anyone able to host a modest, private one?

I don't need access to usenet groups, but I want to host my own private news server with nothing but general.discussion for a group of no more than 100 people.. but probably 20 - 25 "regulars".

It would be mostly text based, but prefer to have some binary attachments of 1mb or less.

I've done that.. every link I check is either to rent access to a news server to download posts from, or links to Dnews and other NNTP Server software.

My buddy, LV, was until recently the worldwide network administrator for Boeing Flight Safety. The guy is an absolute guru for these sorts of things.

He's been playing sporadically with AK and I can let him know to drop in for next Wednesday's get-together if you like. It might be easier to talk about it on Ventrilio.

Thanks Sonic... My need for the server "may" not be necessary, as our current home might not be going away as we suspected. But I'll keep that in mind just in case.
