    Looking forward to TWL.

I'm starting to tire of pubbing and am really looking forward to getting back on the ladder and scrimming and competing.

We really kicked some serious ass last year on the 1942 ladder and I must say that was the most fun I've ever had gaming. It's also what cemented my positive view of August Knights.

We've got a good bunch of guys and I think we're about ready to kick serious ass again. If we go at a bit less than the frenetic pace we did last year, I think we can avoid the "group burn-out" that occurred. When we failed in our challenge for the #1 spot, it kind of deflated the whole effort.

I'd like to get started as soon as possible, because summer will be upon us before we know it and people will probably start going their separate ways until fall.

    Just my thoughts.

I agree I am looking forard to ladder comp as well. I think we have a solid group of guys that work well together and all have skills enough for us to do very well.

I agree with Sonic. We need to get back in the game. Summer will be here before we know it, and I know for one, i'll be away again from gaming during that time. I feel confident with us getting back in the mix and making our mark once again.

Well let's stop talking about it and do it!

Palooka - can you sign us up for the DC 10-man TWL ladder? Let's get on the ladder and start challenging.

Personally, I would like to wait until after next Wednesday before we challenge anyone--if possible, I'd like to get one more practice (2 more maps, probably "classic" maps that we haven't pubbed in DC) before playing a match. After that, we will have practiced about half the maps in the rotation, and can allow our match schedule to dictate our practice maps. If we create the team on Monday, I believe we get 48 hours to fill it out before we can be challenged. That would let us get one last practice in, then start kicking butt in the bottom ranks.

No problem with me. I don't mind who we kick ass on... as long as we're kicking ass on someone.

    Let's do it!

We can always join and not challenge for a week It'll take us a week just to get everyone on TWL.

Couldn't agree with you more on that point. Those who don't have TWL accounts should go to http://www.teamwarfare.com, sign up for your individual account, and put in your BF1942 PunkBuster GUID. (If you need it, e-mail me--thebeast@augustknights.com. I can retrieve it from the remote server manager and e-mail it to you.) Likewise, if you've lost your TWL password (Stitch, I'm looking at you! ), now is the time to visit the site and get it back. That way, when Palooka creates a team, you can join it quickly. If memory serves me, we have to have at least 10 players within 48 hours or the team gets deleted and we have to start all over.

    Thumbs up

Well, I don't know if I am ready for "prime time" but I'll do my best!

"put in your BF1942 PunkBuster GUID"

Beast I need a BF1942 PunkBuster GUID, where do I get one?

You can find it in the remote admin tool--it's one of the fields on the player list screen. Make sure you get the GUID, not the key hash--the tool displays both.

I most likely won't have time to play for awhile, but I wanted to register on the team just in case I was able to participate at some point.

I logged into my account without a problem but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to join a team or where to enter my Punk Buster ID at? (Which brings up that I need my Punk Buster ID ).

To input your GUID, go to the TWL page and select the menu from the top of the page that has your name on it and choose Profile. Choose "Add another ID" under Anti-smurf identifiers. BF1942 PB GUID is an option on the dropdown menu that you'll get. You can get Punkbuster GUID off the remote admin tool--if you don't have it, just ask someone on Ventrilo next time you're in the game. And it would be wise to use asterisks for the first 7 digits, just in case any l33t h4x0rs get ideas about brute-forcing your BF1942 CD key from your PB GUID. (I hadn't seen that note, thanks for the heads-up, Sonic.)

And you can't join the August Knights team yet, because it hasn't been created yet. But that option is also under your TWL profile screen.

On the TWL site, can we change our name on the fly? Some people have a "?" in their name that may not be there forever.

I'm not sure if you can or not. Most of us actually leave the clan tags out of our account name.
