IT Plan

I'm trying to put together an IT Plan for my company. It is still a small business and therefore does not require a huge budget.

I was wondering if you guys could give me any advice as to what my plan outline should look like, and what things need to be included.

on a somewhat (serious) note. What type of business is it? And most importantly how will IT equipment play it's role in your business.

Will it help business grow?
Is it to manage the business?
Will it provide customer inter-activity to your business?
How will the IT equipment play it's part in TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for your business.

Yes, it will help our business grow since we will advertise our product and support our dealers with it as well.

We will use it to manage our business to tie in our purchases with our accounting

The TCO is a good question and not quite sure yet....

BTW, our business is electronics....

Not a problem... I do a lot of project management and use this type of formula. Management types love this stuff and nod there head to anything you say if you've got the right plan and cover every base. For me I always have a decision review board consisting of management, peers, non-IT people and someone from another department to give me an ok at key decision points... that way when things go bad you don't have to take the full blame, plus it gives you another point of view... too often, IT people work in bubbles.
