Which is better ...Xbox or PS2? Personally, I like the PS2 better. My friend's 12 year old is wanting to get one or the other and the Xbox is on sale for $149. Which really has a better lifespan and goodies with it? Any pros or cons with either?

The XBOX is superior hardware, but there's a better library of games available for the PS2. There are enough good XBOX games for me, though, so it's no contest.

Both have their strong points. But the XBOX is the hands down winner for a few reaons. Graphics, game speed acess, better on-line ready games. Plus it's 20x eaiser to MOD I think for $149.99 the XBOX is an amazing purchase well worth every penny.

I haven't owned a console since the original Sega Genesis, as I've always preferred PC gaming. However, at $149 the X-Box is extremely attractive. As it was stated, the X-Box doesn't have the selection of games as the Playstation does. The one game that would make me consider buying a playstation is Grand Turismo. I'm sure it doesn't stand up to some of todays PC racing simulations... but none the less, it "looks" awesome.

But considering I get all my driving satisfaction out of sim racing, If I ever buy one it will probably be an X-Box. I still think they should have made them Blue though...

They've also just released an x-box bundle with custom halo green controller/box along with the halo game for $169. So if you planned on picking up halo anyways which I believe is currently $40 new you could save $10.
Plus they're only releasing a limited run of 200,000 for that bundle.
