What's the story on Omega drivers? Are they a third-party driver or something? If so, are they supposed to be better than factory?

Yes, they are third party drivers. I was using them, but I had some minor 'issues' with them in some games so I went back to the pure ATI drivers. I really didn't notice any performance increase with the Omega's.

They are a tweaked version of the factory drivers, for the best balance of quality and performance. The guy who does them actually has praise from ATI for his work.
They have always been better for me than the factory drivers. (The 4.5 Omegas fixed the pixellation issue in BF:Vietnam for me).
