Currently, our playoffs are set so that the top 8 teams make it, and the playoff games take place on week 15 and 16, with the championship game on week 17. There are other options-with a 9 or 10 team league, that means only one or two teams won't make it. Here's the other options:
-4 teams make it, playoff games on week 15 and 16 or week 16 and 17
-8 teams make it, playoff games on week 14, 15, and 16, or the current schedule
8 sounded like a good number at first, but the more I think about it, I tend to think maybe four is better--imagine a team that goes undefeated in the regular season and gets bumped in the first round by someone who won two or three games the whole year.
As far as playoff weeks: the longer the season goes, the longer everyone can participate and root for their picks. But on week 17, teams that have nothing to play for often don't give their regulars much playing time, thus increasing the risk that if a championship FF team has a great player from a crappy team (a good example from last season would be LaDanien Tomlinson from SD), they'll be at a disadvantage on their roster.
So what do you guys think about all this?
