Early indications are that my mobo is just as unstable overclocking this CPU as it was trying to overclock my 2.4A Prescott.

However, with an 800 mhz FSB and a 3.2 CPU, I am inclined to overlook its overclocking issues ... for now.

Yep, finally. I was in a hurry to get it up and running so I installed the new CPU this morning before work. I have not played a game with it yet - just did some benchmarks.

    6056 3Dmarks in 3Dmark 2003. Not bad for an old 9700 :-)

    Managed a stable overclock to 3.41 ghz. I now have 18,624 3DMarks in 3Dmark 2001 and 6106 in 3Dmark 2003.

hmm best I could muster from my syste yesterday was 14950.

    P4 3ghz 800 fsb
    Asus p4p800 deluxe
1GB ocz pc4000 dual channel gold
    radeon AIW 9800 pro 128
WD 74gb 10K rpm raptor sata

I would'nt have through my numbers would be that much lower with a more powerful card and a 200mhz less cpu.

Hehehe well there are many Xp tweaks for gaming, that i know Ab uses then u have a multitude of hardware performance tweaks. Large gains can come from running your ram at its best settings or even just make sure its running at a 1:1 ratio in the case of an 800FSB cpu.

Also u want to turn all your graphics settings to performance and off for benchmarking.

You should be able to hit at least 20000 with your setup, u have a great clocking, tweakin board! Good cpu and fast graphics card. Edit your system is capable of up to 20000 with a good bit of tweakin.

Tweak just your graphics card, clock it up and then run 3dmark 2003 thatl show em.

If nothing else by all means get a hardware temp/voltage monitor running and crank up that FSB bro! Your board and CPU are begging for it!@ Your ram is rated for 250 and your at 200 (i hope) @ spd timings no?. That happens to be some of the best clocking ram on the market!@

Kinda like grandpa driving a ferrari

Hmm. That doesn't seem so good...or my machine isn't bad for an old dog.

I just looked up my scores and found that my box tests at 13165, which isn't bad for a 2.6 gHz, 110 mHz FSB, Nividia Ti4600 w/128k machine.

    Here's my compare URL.
    Hasta,
