Any Audio / CD Burning experts out there?

I have 2 CDs (Van Halens The Best of Both Worlds set that just came out) and I want to burn a copy to CD and have no problem doing that, but I'm "ASS"uming that your CD Burner must support CD-Text in order to encode with it? I generally use Roxio Easy CD Recorder, but I also have the latest NERO and neither of them have the option available to burn CD-Text.

I have a Plextor 16/10/40A PlexWriter and it says it supports CD-Text.

    Any ideas?

I did some asking around about what you were wanting to do and I was able to get this web site for you. Exact Audio Copy. I hope this helps you out. If not let me know and I will see if I can't find another program.

Thanks for that link bass! I'll add it to my arsenal.

I was actually able to get it working. Not sure why, but my CD recording software kept defaulting to track at once instead of disk at once. Once I got disk at once set as default, the CD-Text option became available.

My wife and I are driving up to Upstate NY (Elmira-Corning) tomorrow morning to visit some of my family and my best friend... about a 3 1/2 hour trip so I'll get to test it all out.

Gunny... most definitely, although the Albany area is a pretty nice clip from Elmira. In fact, I may be closer to you guys here in Bethlehem than from Elmira. I visited my buddy way back.. he graduated from SUNY Albany back in 92 or 93 iirc and I think it took me like 4 - 4.5 hours from Elmira. I just did a quick directions on Yahoo! maps and it comes out about 1/2 shorter from here in Bethlehem than from Elmira to Albany.

However, it may be more appropriate if you guys were to visit me in Elmira... I mean - with the maximum security prisons and all, Stitch would be able to visit some of his friends.

Rocks - I'm a huge VH fan, but unlike some of the "older" fans - I'm actually more partial to the Haggar era since I'm a huge Sammy fan. And I'm only 33 dammit!

Rocks you forgot one singer who did not even get his own tour bus. Extremes old vocalist Gary Cherone. It is a toss up between Sammy and Dave on favorites for VH. Going to be seeing the VH boys in September. seriously jazzed up for the show. I have not seen them since the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour. If I remember right that is when Eddie decided to cut his hair. Call it a drill accident had his hair to low to the guitar when using the dril and well the rest is now gone. OUCH!!!

    Bassiswild,

I like Gary, but VH III really had some 'off' music in it. Something just didn't click. Without You was a great song, and I liked Dirty Water Dogs. Once was OK, as was Josephina & Fire in the hole (with MA singing). But overall, not a very good album.

Gary was great in Extreme. I think that with VH he was trying to sing like Sammy. If he would have done his own thing like in Extreme I think he would have still been in VH. I was a big Extreme fan and was overjoyed when I heard about Gary going to be with the Van Halen boys but after listening to that I could feel the pain. I do not think that they even toured for that CD. Would like to see Extreme get have a reunion. Nuno was a great guitar player between Nuno and Cherone they make a good combo. Couple of my favorite Extreme tunes were Rest In Peace and More Than Words. I think More Than Words showed Gary's talent as a vocalist. Anytime you want to chat about old 90s bands I am game.

I liked Stop the World and Hole Hearted as well. And of course, Get the Funk Out.

Small world...I also have family in the Elmira/Corning area--my grandparents live near Painted Post (Presho, to be exact) and an aunt & uncle near Ithaca.

I'm not a huge VH fan, but I might check that album out. I have a lot of "greatest hits" from bands that I'm a "casual listener" of.

I was born and raised in Elmira (Elmira Heights to be exact) and graduated from Horseheads High School. Lived there my first 21 years and after my mother passed away in 92, I moved to Virginia and attended college. Then from there ended up here in Bethlehem after graduation. My wife has lived her whole life here.

I spent many weekends up in Ithaca chasing Cornell and Ithaca College women.

There is only one singer for Van Halen and that man is David Lee Roth. Period.
