    Doom 3 screenies

Here are a few screen shots from the game, taken as I move through it.

    Second report
    The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles.

    Squid,

We are both in the same section. I'm a little bit into Alpha 4 as well. Reading your assessment of the game so far, I'd have to agree dead on. Although I didn't have a ton of experience with the original Doom, just a little of Doom 2 in college.

It's a good thing this is 'linear', because it is so easy to get lost. As you mentioned, everything looks the fricken same. I'm getting pretty decent and hitting the F key quickly to assess and shoot. The chain gun came in handy when I met up with the Spiders for the first time. They are easy to kill, but there were a ton of them.

I also enjoyed using the crane to move the toxic waste into the incinerator. I tried like crazy to pick up one of the dead bodies to put into the incinerator, but it wouldn't let me pick them up.

I have to admit though, I felt bad killing the Pinky Demons... I think they should give you the option of putting a collar around its neck on a chain to allow you to keep one as a pet, at least for us pre-orderers!

I seriously can't play this game that much.. I mean, I'm down with being scared.. I'm just not down with being completely freaked out.

This game literally gives me goosebumps at times.. and its about at that time I have to put the game down.. So in a good sitting I may get 30min-1hr of play in before I have to put it down.. coincidentally I'm only about half way to Sector 2.

you guys sure are taking your time, I am going through it a second time on the hard setting. I was going to try and do it on the nightmare skill level, but that's impossible, you constantly lose your life until it gets down to 25, and most monsters hit you for more then that.

I'm playing it on the setting just below nightmare, I guess that's Hard.

Just too many other things going on right now for me to devote all of my evenings to Doom3... I'm going to have to peck away at it.

Consider me to have beaten Doom3 as of 2:25am EST..

Pretty much devoted most of my day to getting it done, as I wanted to have it beaten under the week mark and will be away from my machine for a couple days as of tomorrow.

I only played for about half an hour last night in single player mode. I just finished killing that spider-lady and exited Alpha 4.
