T:V Multi-player demo out and open

    TRIBES: Vengeance MP Demo

The multiplayer TRIBES: Vengeance demo is now available, allowing the chance to check out Irrational Games' installment in the multiplayer shooter series. Word from Sierra is that the T:V beta will end September 29. Also: "The multi-player demo contains four maps and offers five different gameplay types. The final version of Tribes:Vengeance will ship with 11 multi-player maps, but will offer infinite variety with the availability of easy-to-use modification tools which will be released when the game ships. Irrational Games has built a unique gameplay system that will make it easy for enterprising game designers to mix and match gameplay types, maps, and objects to create original and unique ways of playing an online game." The 472 MB download is available on the Sierra Entertainment Website, and mirrored on 3D Gamers, Fileaholic, FileFront, FilePlanet (registration required), Filerush (torrent), GameSpot DLX (registration required), and Worthplaying.

    Kick ass! </Cartman>

I'll get it posted on the AK FTP ASAP.

Update: I've created a Tribes directory on the AK FTP server. Currently, the Tribes 2 giveaway edition and the T:V multiplayer beta are in the directory. If my download speed holds, the multiplayer demo should be there by 5:00-5:30 EDT for your fast downloading pleasure.

Well I personally don't notice a huge difference from the open beta, the only change that will take getting used to is the energy recharge time increased, so need to work on better energy consumption even with the energy pack.

I downloaded and installed last night and i noticed a significant increase in performance for some reason. Everything was much smoother and I was hearing sounds I didn't hear before. So I don't know if I had a faulty BETA install or not... but it 'played' much better last night.

Didn't notice much in the gameplay, but I only played 2 rounds of Fuel last night.

yeah, its a little more difficult now, spending more time on the ground at the moment, but I think that will change once I get used to it.

I had a noticeable performance increase from the Open Beta as well. Sounds were better, game played smoother. They definitely knocked off a few rough edges.

I'm going to install it tonight; hopefully I'll get some play time in this weekend.
