    Went wireless

Spilt applejuice all over my keyboard the other day. The good news was that this was before I put brandy in the apple juice, so nothing important was lost. But things got a bit sticky. So I went to get a replacement - figuring now's the time to get one of those spiffy split keybaords. So that's what I got. It's wireless though, now this is pretty spiffy. It also came with a wireless mouse - extra spiffy!

I have a wireless mouse that I hate. I cannot set the buttons like I can on my teathered critter. that was a $25.00 dissapointment. but i think the keyboard would kick butt!! let us know after a few battles just how you like it, I've been thinking about trying one out.

I too just went back to using a plugged in mouse after finally getting sick and tired of my wireless mouse. The two double A batteries made the mouse much heavier, and the thing wasn't really as responsive. But the worst part was constantly buying new batteries, that thing went through them amazingly fast.

I just got through playing some DC. Microsoft supposedly redesined the wireless in this mouse, so I guess you could call it second generation. To me it was indistinguishable in play from my corded mouse - it worked great! Supposedly the batteries last longer too. Not sure I really care about that - I can use my camera's LiMH rechargables if it starts getting bad.

But here's the funny part. The stupid keyboard was what was giving me grief! It would sort of forget that you were holding down a key. So to move forward, I'd have to release and repress "w" every 2 to 10 seconds. That's obviously not going to work.

Not sure what's going on though, others on the server claimed to be using wireless keyboards, with no complaints. I really like this keyboard, so I'd hate to have to take this back. I really wish they'd give you a USB plug with it, so that wireless was strickly optional.

Yeah, when I upgraded to my new system I got the logitech MX 700 duo, with wireless kb and mouse, the nice thing is the mouse comes with a chargable base (that also acts as the RF receiver), so I only have to worry about the batteries in the kb, which apparently lasts for quite some time.. I did have to get a different mouse pad to go on top of my fabric one with the hand rest. Now it's slightly better then the corded optical mouse I had.
    Very pleased with the purchase.

Did it come with software?, you may be able to tweak the timeout setting on your kb..

I've been using a Logitech MX700 for about a year now and I'll never go back to a corded mouse again. My next mouse most likely will be the MX1000 from Logitech.

Let me know how that Logitech works out. I love this Microsoft keyboard, but the fact that it's unreliable for gaming applications is driving me nuts. I may have to take the whole darned set back - All because because the darned W button forgets that your holding it down.

    This makes me very sad
