I was reading the Worst-case Scenario Survival Handbook over the weekend. A short little book that makes for a great bathroom read. As a result I now know how to land a small airplane if the pilot becomes incapacitated.

I recently finished Old Man's War and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very hard to put down once you get started.

    I'm now reading this...
    The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles.

I've read my quest log in WoW, but that's about it other than my 15+ magazine subscriptions.

I'm finishing a David Baldacci thriller right now, then I'm going to dive into the first book in Neal Stephenson's "Baroque Cycle" series of novels.

I am currently reading two books. One is about the famous promoter from the San Francisco bay area Bill Graham. The book is called Bill Graham Presents it is about him working with acts like the Rolling Stones to Santana a good read for anyone interested in the business side of music.

Also reading a book about Metallica. Called And Justice For All... The Truth About Metallica another good read. Goes into the rumors about Metallica and trys to answer and dispel a lot of the rumors. The book is far from impartial it is heavly weighed on their side. Still worth while book.

I didn't know Metallica needed a "truth" told about them.

    Metallica.. the Truth:

Truth is, we make all our money on tour.. just like every other artist out there. We just like to be jerks and be a pain in everyone's sides.

    Looks like a short book.

    Metallica Truth Part II:

All that bru-haha a few years ago over Napster didn't stop Nuts from downloading every song ever recorded by Metallica in one .zip file from Bit Torrent a few weeks back. And Lars thought he was fighting the good fight. Ha. Oh, and the reason we lost a lot of fans was that they are now 30 and not 18 anymore.

Hell, when Metallica brought suit against Napster, I specifically downloaded all their songs I could find just to spite little Lars, in my own private way. I could have just imported most of them from original CDs I'm sure I have laying around...somewhere, but that wasn't the point.

Metallica I think should start to realize that most of their fans have no respect for them. Last I heard Dave Mustaine from Megadeth was sueing Metallica for useing his likeness in their film Some Kind of Monster even though Dave told them no way. Tells you that Metallica considers themselvs above the law and then they want their fans to follow the same laws. Hmmm...

Bumping this thread to the top--I'm reading a FANTASTIC book right now called Masters of Doom. It's by a writer from Spin magazine named David Kushner, and it's the story of Doom (yes, that Doom) and how a group of dysfunctional geeks created ID software. Highly recommended for gaming geeks (i.e., everyone who reads this board. )
