GPL Event #4

We came in 22nd. :P

It was a very weird day... we had new players playing, but they played well. It was 95 degrees and very humid...maybe that was it. We've placed higher with inferior teams, so maybe it was just one of those days when everything went wrong. For instance on the second game my hopper went down, and after the first 5-6 balls I had nothing the rest of the game. That one ended up in a draw and it sort of set the tone for the rest of the event.

It was SOOO hot out there. An ambulance took one kid from the field due to heat exhaustion, and one of my teammates was barfing 20 seconds before the game was to start. LOL...

Thankfully we get to drop the lowest score in our overall rankings so this one shouldn't hurt us too much.

Even the best teams have a tough day once in a while--that's true no matter the sport. And whatever happened to this heat wave allegedly being over, anyway? I was sweating my yams off working in my yard--I can't even imagine playing paintball in that kind of weather.

The delay between games grew from 20 minutes to an hour and a half. Everyone was dragging, and many teams just dropped out. We had 7 guys so we had a pretty good rotation system going, but it was pretty sick. After you made a move you were just out of breath, even though you only ran about 20 feet.
